Phuong Nghi Commune People's Council innovates content and improves quality of activities

Identifying the improvement of the quality of meetings as one of the important factors to improve the efficiency of operations, the People's Council of Phuong Nghi commune has regularly innovated the content of meetings in a practical direction, promoting democracy and intelligence of delegates to decide on important local issues. According to comrade Ngan Van Chinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Phuong Nghi commune: "In order for the meetings of the People's Council of the commune to be of quality and effective, the Standing Committee of the People's Council of the commune has coordinated with the People's Committee and the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune to agree on the content, program, time, location and well prepare the conditions to ensure the meetings take place. The People's Council delegates with a high sense of responsibility reviewed the reports and submissions of the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the People's Committee and spent a lot of time discussing and proposing solutions to promote the socio-economic development of the locality. The meeting documents were sent in advance to the People's Council delegates, ensuring that the delegates had time to study and give their opinions at the meeting".

In particular, the People's Council delegates have promoted a high sense of responsibility towards voters and the People, with enthusiasm, actively contributing to the success of the sessions. On the basis of close, serious coordination, in accordance with regulations and with a high sense of responsibility, the resolutions passed at the sessions have ensured the right authority and feasibility to meet the requirements and aspirations of voters and the People.

The supervision activities of the People's Council of the commune have also been innovated in a practical, effective, democratic and responsible manner, focusing on outstanding and urgent issues that voters and people are concerned about. During the supervisions, the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the People's Council committees of the commune have clarified the results, limitations, causes and responsibilities of each unit and individual, and at the same time summarized the basic contents, outstanding issues, and many difficulties to unify the guiding viewpoint and remove difficulties. The supervision reports and conclusions are promptly notified. The opinions and recommendations after the supervision are seriously accepted and gradually resolved by the People's Committee of the commune. Along with that, to improve the quality of activities, the Standing Committee of the People's Council of the commune regularly organizes meetings and exchanges with Party cell secretaries and village chiefs to remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing tasks.

In addition to participating in meetings, the commune People's Council delegates actively and seriously implemented the law on meeting voters before and after meetings. The time and place of meeting voters were publicly announced for voters to know and attend. The subjects and components participating in meeting voters were expanded. The methods of meeting voters by delegates are increasingly diverse, innovative, democratic, and open in the direction of frank dialogue, focusing on specific issues directly related to the local socio-economic life. In addition, the commune People's Council Standing Committee also coordinated with the district People's Council delegates to meet citizens according to the regular schedule. Citizens' recommendations and reflections were received and satisfactorily explained by the commune People's Council delegates.

At the 14th session of the People's Council of Phuong Nghi commune for the 2021-2026 term, which took place in early January 2025, the People's Council delegates promoted the role of elected representatives when they frankly expressed their opinions and issues of concern to voters and the people such as: education, culture, health, environmental sanitation, food safety and hygiene; administrative reform, land sector, etc. were seriously received and explained by the representative of the People's Committee of the commune at the session.

Thanks to the focus on innovation in content and improvement in the quality of activities, the People's Council of Phuong Nghi commune has promoted its role as a local State authority, representing the will, aspirations, legitimate interests and mastery of the people, creating a clear change in socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The activities of the People's Council of the commune increasingly meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation, worthy of the trust of the elected representatives.
