She said: "I know that today I have to compete with very strong opponents, but I still set a personal goal, which is to win over myself. During the competition, when I first rowed, I knew that I was behind my opponents, but I was still determined not to be discouraged. I knew that I could not win against my opponents, even finishing last in the race, but I improved my performance on today's competition day." In rowing, due to being greatly affected by objective conditions including wind speed, wind direction and waves, the athletes' performance can fluctuate in a positive or negative direction. However, through each competition with increasing competition, what Pham Thi Hue showed was truly commendable.
