Information from Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong - daughter of artist, Meritorious Artist Hong Duc passed away at 10:15 pm on April 22 in Ho Chi Minh City after a period of serious illness. The funeral will take place on the morning of May 3, after which the coffin will be buried at Phuc An Vien cemetery park, Thu Duc City.
It is known that in the last years of his life, Meritorious Artist Hong Duc and his wife moved from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City to live with their children. Currently, the family of his eldest daughter and youngest son are returning from Canada to take care of their father's funeral.
Meritorious Artist Hong Duc passed away at the age of 83.
Artist Hong Duc's real name is Nguyen Van Duc, born in 1940 in My Duc district, Hanoi. He grew up in Hai Phong city and became an architect, working in Hai Phong.
From 1963 to 1969, he became a film actor at Vietnam Feature Film Studio, now Vietnam Feature Film Studio One Member Co., Ltd.
In 1964, artist Hong Duc played the main role, Hero Cu Chinh Lan in the film The Young Soldier . His role left many special impressions on the film industry and audiences.
