Meritorious Artist Hong Duc of the film 'Criminal Police' passed away

Information from Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong - daughter of artist, Meritorious Artist Hong Duc passed away at 10:15 pm on April 22 in Ho Chi Minh City after a period of serious illness. The funeral will take place on the morning of May 3, after which the coffin will be buried at Phuc An Vien cemetery park, Thu Duc City.

It is known that in the last years of his life, Meritorious Artist Hong Duc and his wife moved from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City to live with their children. Currently, the family of his eldest daughter and youngest son are returning from Canada to take care of their father's funeral.

Meritorious Artist Hong Duc passed away at the age of 83.

Artist Hong Duc's real name is Nguyen Van Duc, born in 1940 in My Duc district, Hanoi. He grew up in Hai Phong city and became an architect, working in Hai Phong.

From 1963 to 1969, he became a film actor at Vietnam Feature Film Studio, now Vietnam Feature Film Studio One Member Co., Ltd.

In 1964, artist Hong Duc played the main role, Hero Cu Chinh Lan in the film The Young Soldier . His role left many special impressions on the film industry and audiences.

Thanks to this role and film, he received many certificates of merit and awards, including the Golden Lotus Award at the first Vietnam Film Festival - 1970, a certificate of merit from the Soviet Cinema Association at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1965...

In the years 1990 - 2000, the male artist left a mark in the audience's hearts with memorable roles such as: Ba Tinh in the movie Chuyen pho phuong; Mr. Siu - the casino owner in the movie Chay an.

Meritorious Artist Hong Duc made the audience unforgettable with the role of Tien "chi" - the "boss" character modeled after gangster boss Nam Cam in the film Criminal Police: White Collar (10 episodes, scriptwriter Nguyen Nhu Phong, broadcast in 2002).

In addition, he is also a stage artist with plays: My Company Commander, In the Name of Justice, History and Witness, Distraught, Tiger's Claw, White Night, White Disease, Dien Bien Phu Song...
