Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province, said that this year, the Sen Village Festival to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) will be held on a national scale with many highlights and new and different activities; expected to take place from May 9-19, 2025.
This is an important political and cultural activity, expressing the people's gratitude and respect for President Ho Chi Minh.
Within the framework of the festival, Nghe An province coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Public Security to inaugurate the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" monument from socialized sources. The work was donated by the Ministry of Public Security to the government and people of Nghe An province, demonstrating the special affection and respect of the People's Public Security force for Uncle Ho.
The statue is made of new technology hydraulically pressed bronze, inspired by the image of Uncle Ho visiting his hometown; placed at Lang Sen Stadium - the place that marked the two times Uncle Ho visited his hometown and stood to talk to the people.
The opening ceremony of the 2025 Sen Village Festival and the inauguration of the "Uncle Ho's Return to His Hometown" statue will be held at the Sen Village Stadium (Kim Lien Commune, Nam Dan District) and will be broadcast live on national television and Nghe An Provincial Television. The organizers will set off fireworks (lasting 15 minutes) to serve the people and visitors attending the opening ceremony.
In addition, many cultural and sports activities will also be held during the festival, such as the "Journey following Uncle Ho's footsteps - For the security of the Fatherland" Run organized by the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association, expected to attract thousands of athletes; inauguration of the 9-storey waterfall at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan; Lang Sen singing performance; photo exhibition of ASEAN countries and people.
In addition, there will be a Film Week about Uncle Ho and exchanges with film artists and film crews about Uncle Ho in Nghe An; the 29th National Wrestling Championship in 2025; the Marathon "Journey in Uncle Ho's footsteps - For the security of the Fatherland"...
It is known that the Sen Village Festival originated from the Sen Village Singing Festival movement in 1981. In 2002, this activity was upgraded to a provincial-level festival and is held every 5 years on a national scale, associated with President Ho Chi Minh's birthday./.
