According to GizmoChina , some recent rumors have suggested that Nintendo is working on a Switch 2 console that will feature a dual screen, reminiscent of Nintendo's iconic 3DS console. The device could also split into two parts for a multiplayer gaming experience.

However, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has strongly denied these dual-screen design rumors. During an earnings call, he dismissed the circulating news as "inaccurate," and explicitly distanced the Switch 2 from the design features of the now-discontinued 3DS.

Curiosity about the Switch 2 has also grown, with documents related to the FTC's lawsuit against Microsoft alleging that Activision Blizzard had information about the detailed specifications of the upcoming console. However, Nintendo has denied this claim, insisting that no such information was shared with Activision Blizzard or any other company.

Official announcements about the Nintendo Switch 2 are scarce at the moment, but industry rumors suggest that game development kits have been distributed to select partners and the device is expected to launch in the second half of 2024.

The console is rumored to support NVIDIA's DLSS 3.5 technology, which is capable of delivering advanced graphics like Ray Tracing, setting it apart from the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. But the rumored backwards compatibility and advanced machine learning remain unknown.
