Ninh Thuan expects breakthrough from transport infrastructure

On the morning of April 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and gave a speech at the conference to announce the planning of Ninh Thuan province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2025, and promote investment in Ninh Thuan province.

Also attending were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and representatives of central ministries and branches.

Stick to transport infrastructure for development

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam, Chairman of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, said that inheriting the socio-economic development achievements of more than 30 years of re-establishment of the province, Ninh Thuan is currently facing new development opportunities.

The Government has a policy to invest in a number of key national projects, strongly promoting the increase of connectivity in the development of Ninh Thuan with the provinces in the South Central region and the Southern key economic zone.

The highlight is to include Thanh Son Airport in the planning list of airport systems for the period 2021-2030. Along with that, the expressway from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang through Ninh Thuan province has been completed and put into operation. The locality has built many routes to connect the expressway with the economic centers and seaports of the province.

Ca Na General Seaport Phase I is accelerating its progress, expected to be completed in 2025... bringing multi-faceted benefits to the local socio-economic development, contributing to unleashing potential, advantages, and attracting investment in Ninh Thuan.

The planning of Ninh Thuan province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has been approved by the Prime Minister with a strategic vision of "Ninh Thuan - Land of convergence of different values", creating different values to create economic competitiveness, exploiting potentials and strengths to create room for growth.

The planning focuses on developing 3 corridors including expressways, coastal routes and expanding development along the East-West axis to create regional and inter-regional connections according to Resolution 26 of the Party Central Committee.

"Ninh Thuan province identifies the Southern key economic zone as a new growth pole, an important driving force to promote the province's potential and advantages in terms of seaports, dry ports, logistics service centers, industrial parks, urban areas, and tourism; aiming to have enough conditions to establish a coastal economic zone of the country by 2025," Mr. Tran Quoc Nam emphasized.

Create competition with different advantages

At the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Ninh Thuan is one of the earliest provinces to develop a plan. The first plan of the province was issued and implemented for more than 10 years, bringing Ninh Thuan up, catching up, and keeping up with other localities across the country. From a province at the bottom of the development group to a province with average development, "going up from "difficult, dry and miserable", "turning nothing into something, turning difficult into easy, turning impossible into possible".

According to the Prime Minister, up to now, the establishment, adjustment and implementation of national planning, regional planning, provincial and municipal planning in the region have been accelerated. The synchronous, systematic and effective implementation of these plans will create new momentum for development.

The Prime Minister pointed out 5 key tasks of planning work: Finding and maximizing potential differences, outstanding opportunities, competitive advantages, by building appropriate mechanisms and policies, existing problems, limitations, challenges... to propose solutions to resolve and overcome; building a list of specific projects and programs to attract investment, promote socio-economic development.

Unblock, mobilize and effectively use resources to carry out scientific, effective, focused, and non-perfect implementation; review and adjust promptly, in accordance with the situation and practical requirements.
