Engineering and Manufacturing-Processing, Business and Management are the occupations with the highest recruitment demand in the 4 Southeast provinces.
This is the result of a survey project on human resource recruitment in 4 southeastern provinces (HCMC, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau) conducted by a research team of Ho Chi Minh City National University, announced last weekend.
The group surveyed 1,800 businesses, mainly operating in the fields of Processing - Manufacturing Industry and Trade - Consumer (accounting for 58%).
The most recruited jobs were Engineering (15,140 jobs), followed by Engineering Technology, Manufacturing and Processing, Business and Management with the number of newly recruited personnel fluctuating between 10,000-11,000 people for each field.

Among the member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University, students from the University of Technology are given the highest priority for recruitment in all four provinces and cities in the Southeast region, with 24.4% of employers choosing them. Next are students from the University of Natural Sciences and Economics and Law - about 16%. This figure in the remaining schools is about 7.5-10%.
For schools outside the Ho Chi Minh City National University system, recruitment trends show differences by field. Enterprises operating in the field of Business - Management prioritize candidates who graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics or Foreign Trade University, Campus II. In the field of Engineering and Technology, enterprises prioritize recruiting graduates from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Industry, Agriculture and Forestry.
Businesses said the starting salary they offer for bachelors is typically 5-10 million VND per month. Bachelors can still receive a starting salary of 10-15 million VND, but not much. For candidates with a master's degree, this level is about 10-20 million VND and 15-30 million VND for those with a doctorate.
According to the survey results, from now until 2025, recruitment demand of enterprises in the four southeastern provinces is expected to decrease by 12.6%. Of which, the fields of Architecture and Construction (-31.2%), Social Services (-30.5%), have the sharpest decrease.
Some other fields also saw a significant decrease in recruitment demand, all over 23%, including Arts; Mathematics and Statistics; Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (-23.12%). Meanwhile, the fields of Engineering Technology; Tourism, Hotels, Sports and Personal Services decreased by over 20%.
Only two fields have increased recruitment demand: Educational Sciences and Teacher Training, Law, from 0.35% to 7.7%.

Associate Professor Dr. Ho Quoc Bang, Head of the project, said this was the first time Ho Chi Minh City National University conducted a basic survey on salaries and recruitment trends. The group did not give a more specific assessment.
With the initial results, the research team proposed that Ho Chi Minh City National University continue to conduct periodic surveys with a larger scope and more details to forecast the needs of employers, serving the planning of training sectors.
