According to Mr. Cao Dinh Huy, Chairman of Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, with Tuy Hoa City's main orientation being to develop tourism services associated with the advantages of coastal urban areas, the city's proactive signing of cooperation agreements on tourism development with localities in the Central Highlands is a timely response to the tastes of tourists from the Central Highlands provinces who tend to visit and relax in coastal localities. Tuy Hoa City believes that this connection will bring many positive results in the coming time. "With the difference in tourism environment characteristics, if the cities in the Central Highlands have strengths in eco-tourism, community tourism, many unique cultural festivals of ethnic minorities, Tuy Hoa has strengths in beach resort tourism, modern tourism infrastructure invested to meet the needs of large-scale resorts, this is the highlight of the festival" - Mr. Huy said.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen, said that tourism in the province is recovering strongly thanks to regional connectivity, especially the Central Highlands with Phu Yen. In 2022, Phu Yen welcomed more than 2 million tourists, earning over 2,500 billion VND, an increase of 23% in the number of visitors and 41% in revenue compared to 2019 when the COVID-19 pandemic had not yet broken out. "Connecting with the Central Highlands will create many opportunities and great potential for Phu Yen to develop tourism, creating conditions to build Phu Yen into a gateway to the East Sea of the Central Highlands provinces, one of the important links in the tourism development linkage between the Central Highlands provinces and the South Central Coast region. In the coming time, we will focus on exploiting the values of marine tourism resources, promoting the strengths of Phu Yen's famous seafood cuisine to attract tourists, especially tourists from the Central Highlands" - Ms. Thai said.
