Implementing the Program "1 million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic" (abbreviated as the Program of 1 million initiatives) launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Trade Unions at all levels in the province have actively implemented and received enthusiastic participation from officials, union members, workers and civil servants. Many initiatives have been applied in practice, bringing about socio-economic efficiency, recognized and highly appreciated by all levels and sectors.
Responding to the 1 Million Initiatives Program, Ms. Do Thi Bich Phuong, a member of the Trade Union of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector, actively researched and explored to implement the initiative: "Using a spike board to push seedlings out of foam trays", helping people reduce a lot of production costs.
Ms. Do Thi Bich Phuong said: Previously, people had to take each seedling out of the tray to plant, which took a lot of time and labor costs. Since applying this method, the time and effort to take the seedlings out of the tray has been significantly reduced; the implementation is quite simple and easy.
Through testing the method of using spikes to push seedlings for cucumber plants, the cost of seedlings has been reduced by 1,050,000 VND/325 trays, equivalent to a cost reduction of 1,050,000 VND per hectare of production. This method can be applied to crops such as kohlrabi, cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes, squash, etc. Therefore, when applied to 1,000 hectares of winter vegetables of all kinds in the province, it will save about 1 billion VND in labor costs, helping to increase income for growers.
This method has been applied at two gardens and is being replicated by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development at seed production facilities throughout the province.
Working in the field of industrial engineering, member Bui Phuong Tuan, Head of the Equipment Team, Mechanical and Electrical Department, Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Automobile Manufacturing Joint Stock Company (HTMV2) is always actively looking for technical improvement methods to apply in production. In particular, the initiative "Improving the cooling method for paint mixing booths (mini rooms) to save electricity" has brought about optimal operating efficiency for equipment, reduced power consumption, safety in the production process, contributing to helping the enterprise save unnecessary costs of electricity consumption during the factory's 1-year non-production period of 6,537,400,000 VND.
In addition to the above initiatives, many other initiatives in various fields have been applied in practice, demonstrating the creativity of workers, contributing significantly to stabilizing and restoring production and business activities of enterprises and implementing political tasks of agencies and units.
According to statistics, after nearly 2 years of implementing the Program, as of August 31, 2023, the whole province had 3,283 people registering to participate in the Program, with 19,330 initiatives updated to the Program, reaching 184% of the entire Program target (exceeding 8,830 initiatives), of which 19,011 initiatives were valid, 319 initiatives were under consideration, with a total benefit value of 4,563 billion VND.
Comrade Tran Kim Long, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, said: The 1 million initiatives program aims to promote creative ideas, apply science and technology, and improve techniques among workers, actively prevent and fight the epidemic with the whole country, while maintaining, restoring and developing the socio-economy.
Therefore, as soon as the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor launched the 1 Million Initiatives Program, the Provincial Confederation of Labor Standing Committee issued a specific plan, timely and continuous guidance for union members and workers to participate in the program, requiring implementation to 100% of grassroots unions. Registering to strive to contribute at least 11,000 initiatives. At the same time, allocating targets to each grassroots union.
Identifying that organizing propaganda and guiding union members, workers and civil servants to participate in the Program is a prerequisite for deciding the success of the Program, the Provincial Federation of Labor has promoted propaganda of the goals and significance of the Program through monthly meetings, conferences of emulation clusters; on the electronic information portal, website, Facebook page of Ninh Binh Trade Union, zalo group, articles...; creating videos/clips instructing how to log in and update initiatives on Youtube in an easy-to-understand way, creating consensus and active participation of union officials, union members, workers and civil servants as well as support and facilitation of heads of agencies, units and employers.
In addition, a peak emulation campaign was launched to promote the determination of all levels of the Union and union members to participate in the Program... Thanks to that, the Program has created a strong ripple effect among union members, workers and civil servants.
Based on the direction, guidance and urging of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the Federations of Labor of districts, cities and the Industry Unions have assigned targets to the grassroots Unions. Coordinate with the heads of agencies, units and employers to disseminate the content of the Program to union members, workers and employees; pay attention to supporting and creating favorable conditions for union members and employees to have conditions to study and implement initiatives. Assign responsible officers to regularly update and monitor information and set up Zalo groups with grassroots Union officers in charge to regularly interact and provide detailed instructions on the process of updating initiatives, helping the grassroots Unions quickly catch up and disseminate to each union member and employee...
Understanding the great significance of the Program, the grassroots Trade Unions have actively responded and participated. Comrade Truong Van Tuyen, Chairman of the Trade Union of Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Automobile Manufacturing Joint Stock Company (Gian Khau Industrial Park, Gia Vien District) said: The Company's Trade Union has launched a movement to promote initiatives and technical improvements among workers; reported and coordinated with the Company's Board of Directors to deploy and widely propagate to all union members. Periodically hold meetings to evaluate the implementation results at the Union groups, guide union members with initiatives to improve and complete reports, ensure safety, and not affect the company's production plan.
Thereby, promptly synthesizing effective initiatives to report to the company's Board of Directors for approval of rewards, thereby encouraging the company's union members to participate enthusiastically.
As a result, 704 initiatives were registered on the 1 Million Initiatives Program. In 2021 and 2022, 8 initiatives were awarded the Creative Labor Certificate and the Provincial People's Committee's Certificate of Merit. In 2023, 1 initiative is being proposed to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the Creative Labor Certificate.
The 1 million initiatives program has promoted the spirit of emulation, overcoming difficulties, innovation, discipline and responsibility of the majority of union members and workers. Thereby contributing to the recovery and development of production and business, ensuring jobs, income and benefits for workers.
