Welcoming the Lunar New Year 2024, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province organizes many attractive and unique activities throughout the area to honor traditional cultural values and promote creativity and innovation.

From 7:00 p.m. on the 30th of Tet, the "Sac Bua Procession" will parade along the streets of the Old Quarter and give "Xuan Lien" - a symbol of luck and fortune to people and tourists as a wish for good luck in the new year to everyone, every family.
Next, "Anisong Performance" at 9:00 p.m. on the 30th of Tet (February 9) at Hoi An Park will include famous songs from Japanese animation films, demonstrating cultural exchange and cooperation between Hoi An, Vietnam and Japan.
At 11pm, the New Year's Eve art program with the participation of singers such as Pham Dinh Thai Ngan, Akari, the Gypsy Queen band and many generations of artists in the Hoi An art group promises to bring the audience back to good memories of the New Year's atmosphere of the ancient Hoi An people.
At the moment of transition between the old year and the new year, in an exciting and joyful atmosphere, the city organizes an artistic fireworks display to dispel the difficulties and challenges of the old year and welcome the new year full of hope, as brilliant as the fireworks shining in the sky of Hoi An.
In the atmosphere of Tet coming to Spring, with the pride of Hoi An joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of handicrafts and folk arts; creative activities, cultural introduction, traditional festivals are focused by the city such as: Cau Bong worshiping ceremony at Tra Que Vegetable Village on the 7th day of Tet (February 16), Tien Hien worshiping ceremony and Kim Bong Traditional Carpentry Village Festival on January 12, Giap Thin (February 21), Cam Nam Sticky Corn Festival on February 7-8, Tet pole, Creative corner and Art installation space, handicraft demonstration... along with art performances, folk games at public places in the city.
In particular, the Giap Thin Lantern Festival, held from January 10-16 (February 19-25), has a lot of meaning for the people of Hoi An in particular, to pray for a new year of peace and prosperity. The Lantern Festival in Hoi An was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2023.
There are also many other exciting activities taking place during Tet such as: Spring Flower Festival, Street Music Exchange, Bai Choi Folk Games, Spring Newspaper Festival, Tet Tree Planting Festival, exciting sports and game tournaments taking place throughout the city, promising to bring brilliant spring colors and a joyful atmosphere in the new year.
Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh, Vice Chairman of Hoi An City People's Committee, shared that the annual Lunar New Year Festival is an opportunity to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of Hoi An in particular and Vietnam in general, contributing to strengthening the love for the homeland and country in the hearts of each citizen, especially the young generation.
This is also an opportunity to introduce to the people and tourists a "Hoi An with a small land and a large population/Gentle people and colorful flowers", a Hoi An with a rich cultural and spiritual life, confidently entering 2024 with faith in success and dynamic and creative development.
