Nguyen Thuy Linh finished second at the 2024 German Open Badminton Tournament

On the evening of March 3 (Vietnam time), Nguyen Thuy Linh competed in the final match of the 2024 German Open against Mia Blichfedt from Denmark, currently ranked 22nd in the world. This is the first time in her career that the Vietnamese player has reached the final of a tournament in the World Tour Super 300 system of the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

Facing a higher rated opponent, Nguyen Thuy Linh was at a disadvantage in the first set. The Vietnamese player quickly let her Danish opponent leave her behind in points and lost 11-21 in this set.

In set 2, the difference between the two sides continued to be shown. Nguyen Thuy Linh could not create a surprise and lost this set with a score of 9-21.

Accepting a 0-2 defeat in the final, Nguyen Thuy Linh won the runner-up position at the 2024 German Open badminton tournament. The 26-year-old player received 5,950 bonus points after this tournament.
