On the evening of March 3 (Vietnam time), Nguyen Thuy Linh competed in the final match of the 2024 German Open against Mia Blichfedt from Denmark, currently ranked 22nd in the world. Facing a higher rated opponent, Nguyen Thuy Linh was at a disadvantage in the first set. The Vietnamese player quickly let her Danish opponent leave her behind in points and lost 11-21 in this set.
In set 2, the difference between the two sides continued to be shown. Nguyen Thuy Linh could not create a surprise and lost this set with a score of 9-21.
Accepting a 0-2 defeat in the final, Nguyen Thuy Linh won the runner-up position at the 2024 German Open badminton tournament. The 26-year-old player received 5,950 bonus points after this tournament.
