Exciting cross-country race in Tra Vinh with Elite Kenya athletes

The first cross-country marathon in the West brought many new and exciting experiences. The tournament marked a success with nearly 4,300 athletes participating, including top Elite Kenyan athletes.

The Aikya Cross Country Marathon Tra Vinh 2025 took place in Tra Vinh City last weekend with a particularly exciting atmosphere from thousands of professional and amateur athletes. This is a race directed by the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province, co-organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province and pioneered by Aikya Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, in coordination with Nexus Sport Events.

The race has 4 distances: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km. Different from regular marathons, Aikya Cross Country Marathon Tra Vinh 2025 has a newly designed race track, a combination of many different terrains such as dirt roads, trails, residential roads, concrete roads. The race course runs through green rice fields, roads lined with ancient trees, and prominent scenic spots.

The race became more attractive with the appearance of outstanding runners from both the country and abroad. Ultra-terrain runner - Ha Hau quickly conquered the 21km distance with a time of 1 hour 33 minutes 49 seconds, leading the 21km distance and reaching the top 8 of the entire distance rankings when conquering the first season of Aikya Cross Country Marathon Tra Vinh.

Meanwhile, Kenyan runner Kipchumba Kimutai Hillary finished first with an outstanding time of 1 hour 20 minutes 39 seconds. This is a good result for a cross-country race that first appeared in the West.

In the Full Marathon distance, athlete Kiptoo Edwin Yebie had a fierce and intense competition with athlete Pham Ngoc Phan of Vietnam when the result was only 15 seconds apart. With good physical strength and being used to training in Kenya's weather and complex terrain, Kiptoo won the top position with a time of 2 hours 50 minutes 45 seconds.

Also in the 42km distance for women, pharmacist runner Nguyen Thi Tra Giang competed with Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and Le Thi Kha Ly. Although the girl was petite, her determination was amazing as she left her opponents behind and finished with a time of 3 hours 23 minutes and 9 seconds, 4 minutes ahead of Thu Ha and 5 minutes ahead of Kha Ly.

Ambassador - "desert rose" Thanh Vu participated in the 5km distance and "Western runner" - ambassador Minh Duc participated in the 21km distance. Besides, the first season had the appearance of many professional athletes such as: Trieu Tien Luyen, Tan Hi, Dan Quyet, or young face Vong Vanh Long and many other outstanding athletes.

Mr. Nguyen Dac Hai - General Director of Aikya Group shared: "The race took place enthusiastically, showing that when everyone joins hands to organize meaningful programs like the race in Tra Vinh, it contributes to building a healthy society. Through that, everyone has the motivation to improve their health and quality of life".

The 2025 Aikya Cross Country Marathon Tra Vinh successfully concluded and brought the beauty of Tra Vinh - a precious gem in the Mekong Delta closer to friends at home and abroad.
