Many charitable works

Having worked in many different positions before becoming the President of the Ung Hoa District Red Cross Society, Ms. Nghiem Thi Thu Trang (born in 1980) was loved by her colleagues for her agility, diligence, sense of responsibility, and enthusiasm for the community. For Ms. Trang, charitable activities are not just a duty, but a journey of sharing and attachment with all her heart.

Recently, the President of the Red Cross Society of Nghiem Thi Thu Trang district has proactively connected and mobilized resources from businesses and philanthropists with a budget of 4-5 billion VND/year to implement the movements of the Society, helping from 10,000 to 12,000 people in difficult circumstances each year.

Many large-scale humanitarian programs have been implemented, such as: Tet charity, spring sharing, mid-autumn festival of love, charity trips... Many good models and creative ways have been effectively implemented by her, such as: Heart of love, charity wardrobe, cow bank, members helping each other develop the economy, zero-dong stalls... In particular, the model "Charitable residential cluster" has really brought practical results, mobilizing contributions from people in the community, people far from home, businesses... with a total amount of more than 1.5 billion VND, donated to more than 1,300 households in difficult circumstances, of which, more than 500 households are supported monthly.

The program "Supporting exam season" initiated by her since 2021 has become a "charitable brand" of the district. For 3 consecutive years, the Association has given nearly 5,000 free meals to candidates and their families at high school exam sites, with a total cost of more than 500 million VND. This activity has received widespread support from parents, teachers, organizations and local people, creating a vibrant and meaningful volunteer movement.

With over 22 years of work experience, including over 10 years of humanitarian and charitable work, Ms. Nghiem Thi Thu Trang is an exemplary Association officer and a bridge of love. Ms. Trang has called for and directly participated in helping more than 20 especially difficult cases... Ms. Trang has saved her personal expenses to donate to cases of serious illness, accidents, sudden illness, the disabled, the disadvantaged... with an amount of nearly 50 million VND. Currently, Ms. Trang and her family are supporting 1 orphaned student (300,000 VND/month).

Nguyen Chi Vien, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Ung Hoa District People's Council, said: "Chairwoman of the District Red Cross Society Nghiem Thi Thu Trang always closely follows the district's social security program to build a methodical, flexible, effective and practical plan. Thereby, the District Red Cross Society has built many volunteer models that are both broad and deep; a typical example is the "Humanitarian Booth" model. This is a way of working very close to the people, helping people in difficult circumstances access support right in the community, without having to travel far and wide; other people, when witnessing the effectiveness, are also willing to join hands to maintain it...".

The efforts of the President of the Red Cross Society of Nghiem Thi Thu Trang district have been recognized by all levels and sectors with many noble titles and awards. From 2017 to present, Ms. Trang has been honored to receive many Certificates of Merit at the city and central levels: Certificate of Merit for her achievements in organizing the writing contest on "Advanced Models, Good People, Good Deeds in 2017"; Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, for her outstanding achievements in the work of the Association and the Red Cross movement in 2022. Also in 2022 and 2023, she continuously received Certificates of Merit from the Hanoi City Labor Federation for her outstanding achievements in the emulation movement and Trade Union activities, especially during the peak period to welcome the Hanoi City Trade Union Congress.

In particular, in 2024, the President of the Nghiem Thi Thu Trang District Red Cross Society was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for her active contributions to the emulation movement to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Ung Hoa District and the Victory of Khu Chay and the emulation movement "Skilled mass mobilization"; the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded a Certificate of Merit for her outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Good workers, building strong trade union organizations"... Those awards are a recognition of her persistent dedication and a source of encouragement for the President of the Nghiem Thi Thu Trang District Red Cross Society to continue her journey of connecting kind hearts across the country...
