Cam Lo town residents make flower streets to welcome Tet

To create a fresh spring atmosphere and enrich the spiritual life of the people, this year, Cam Lo town, Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province launched an urban beautification movement by calling on cadres and people of all walks of life to decorate flag and flower streets in all neighborhoods. This movement has spread very strongly, creating streets brilliant with the colors of flags, flowers, and lanterns, becoming a highlight in the series of activities to celebrate the Party and celebrate spring in the area.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Hue, in Ward 2, Cam Lo town, said that since the ward launched the flower street to welcome Tet, many nights in a row, she and many residents in the ward gathered at the community learning center to arrange flowers. Accordingly, the ward arranged 40 pots of apricot and peach blossoms to place along 2/4 street, to create a landscape and Tet atmosphere along the central road of the town.

Nguyen Tri Nam, Secretary of the Party Cell of Ward 2, said that to carry out this movement, each household contributed about 200,000 VND to buy materials to make flowers and buy national flags to hang on the streets. In addition to the general contribution to build the flower street, many households spent their own money to buy lanterns to hang on the tree branches on both sides of the street, in front of their houses, creating streets brilliant with the colors of flowers, national flags and lanterns.

Chairman of Cam Lo Town People's Committee Tran Viet Hung said that, unlike every year, this year there are many important events of the homeland and country, especially welcoming the Party Congresses at all levels, term 2025-2030, towards the 14th National Party Congress, the town has a plan to propagate and mobilize people to build a flower road to create a new atmosphere and motivation to enter 2025 with new successes, making Cam Lo town worthy of being the political, economic, cultural and social center of Cam Lo district.

“In addition to organizing the cleaning and beautification of roads and alleys, hanging Party and national flags, and ensuring a green, clean and beautiful environment for households, we mobilize people to decorate flags, banners and slogans on main roads, community learning centers in neighborhoods; and implement flower streets along central roads such as 2/4, Tran Hung Dao and Ham Nghi with apricot or peach blossoms and lanterns to create a highlight for the town,” Mr. Hung added.
