At 7:00 a.m. on February 13, 103 new recruits were present at Hoang Cau Stadium to attend the 2025 military enlistment ceremony of Dong Da district (Hanoi).

This year, the capital has 4,417 citizens joining the army, of which 3,700 are joining the army and more than 717 are performing public security duties.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh and Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung - Deputy Minister of Public Security attended the military enlistment ceremony, encouraged and congratulated the new recruits.

Before that, the young men who were healthy and qualified had passed the selection rounds, received their enlistment notices and military equipment before the military assembly day.

New recruit Le Van Nam graduated as valedictorian of the International Law major at the Diplomatic Academy, with an IELTS score of 7.5, and gave up many job opportunities to volunteer to perform public security duties, pursuing his dream of becoming a security officer.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuan (90 years old, Dien Bien soldier) emotionally gave advice before her grandson left for his mission.

"I hope he completes his assigned tasks well, studies and trains to become a good citizen, contributing to society," said Ms. Thuan.

Promoting the tradition of "not a single pound of rice is missing, not a single soldier is missing" and always being the leading unit in the country in the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in previous years, in 2025, the Hanoi Capital Command, as a standing agency, has advised the City People's Committee and the City Military Service Council to strictly implement the Law on Military Service, documents, instructions and guidance on the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army.

This year, some key indicators of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in Hanoi have increased. Citizens with health level 1, level 2 reached 57% and level 3 reached 43%; there are 2,510 citizens with high school education (reaching 65%); 995 citizens with university and college degrees (reaching 26%).

The number of citizens volunteering to join the army in the whole city increased by 11% compared to 2024. In general, these are good criteria, contributing to meeting the requirements of building a strong, compact and elite army in the coming time.

By January 28, all localities had completed issuing conscription orders and delivered them to 100% of eligible citizens, with appropriate reserve ratios.
