On November 17 in Hanoi, the final round of the Chinese Star contest took place with great success, attracting the attention of the education community and Chinese language lovers across the country.
Chinese Star is a large-scale Chinese presentation contest, specially designed for primary and secondary school students. Since its launch, the contest has attracted a large number of participants from all over the country, becoming a playground for students to express their talents, passion, and love for Chinese.
Chinese Star, organized by My Chinese Education Joint Stock Company, attracted hundreds of contestants nationwide to register to participate, and 27 contestants participated in the final round from the following provinces and cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Lang Son, Ha Giang, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Son La... The young contestants demonstrated their excellent ability to use Chinese and give fluent presentations, making the audience burst with emotions throughout the competition.
Special Organizing Committee of the Chinese Star Competition
Talking about the reason for creating a learning playground for students who love Chinese, Ms. Pham Kim Thien Van - Director of My Chinese Education Joint Stock Company, Head of the Organizing Committee shared: "I always hope to create a Chinese presentation contest to give primary and secondary school students in Vietnam the opportunity to challenge themselves and create a foundation for them to participate in large-scale global Chinese competitions".
Ms. Thien Van said that although she was invited to teach at Liaoning Normal University (China), she still refused these opportunities to stay in Vietnam, contributing and inspiring students to learn. She believes that the current trend of rejuvenating the age of learning Chinese in Vietnam is a new and important trend; training a team of highly qualified Chinese teachers for children is an urgent task.
The contest made both parents and contestants happy.
Ms. Tran Ngoc Anh (a parent from Hai Phong) said that when Ms. Thien Van went on stage to encourage her children who did not win any prizes, as a mother she was very moved. Expressing her thanks to the Organizing Committee for creating a very interesting playground for the students, she said: “As someone who has taken her child to participate in many competitions, I find the Organizing Committee of this competition very professional, dedicated and thoughtful. The contestants do not have to pay any fee for the program, but can compete in a luxurious space.”
As the winner of the contest, Nguyen Huy Hai Anh (12 years old, Sop Cop Primary and Secondary School, Son La) shared: “I am very happy to participate in such a big and professional contest. I am also very grateful to my father for accompanying me from the first days I started learning Chinese”.
The 2024 Chinese Star Contest has come to an end, contributing to creating a confident, dynamic and internationally integrated young generation.
