In order to effectively exploit agricultural land funds, Ngoc Lac district is implementing many solutions to encourage organizations and individuals to concentrate and accumulate land to invest in production development and increase people's income.
People in Ngoc Lien commune (Ngoc Lac) harvest cassava as raw material to produce cassava vermicelli.
Ngoc Lac district currently has nearly 39,099 hectares of agricultural land, with favorable soil and climate conditions for production development. To effectively exploit agricultural land funds, the district has proactively developed plans and roadmaps for land use; focused on converting crop structure, variety structure, crop structure and livestock development, aiming at developing disease-safe agriculture, applying high technology. In converting crop structure, the district has shifted towards increasing the area of late spring and early season rice; reducing the area of early spring and late season rice. At the same time, people are encouraged to use new varieties with high yield, quality, pest control and expand intensive farming. Many crops put into production by communes bring high economic efficiency, such as: Pineapple in Cao Thinh, Ngoc Trung, Loc Thinh, Lam Son, Ngoc Lien communes with an area increased from 740 ha (in 2019) to 1,000 ha (in 2024), generating an income of more than 250 million VND/ha; kudzu in Ngoc Lien, Ngoc Son, Quang Trung communes generating an income of 160 million VND/ha/year; fruit trees in Kien Tho, Loc Thinh, Thach Lap, Cao Thinh, Nguyet An, Ngoc Trung, Ngoc Son, Cao Ngoc communes with an area of nearly 2,508 ha (of which, the concentrated planting area is 2,131.7 ha; the newly planted area is 376.3 ha)...
Ngoc Lac district also actively encourages organizations and individuals to accumulate and concentrate land to develop high-tech agricultural production, creating concentrated commodity production areas. From 2019 to March 2024, the whole district has accumulated and concentrated land to develop large-scale agriculture, in the direction of high technology, on 1,809 hectares. Thereby, a number of agricultural production models applying high technology to production have been formed and promoted effectively, such as: Kim Hoang Hau melon model in greenhouses in Lam Son, Minh Son, Kien Tho communes; safe vegetable model in Thuy Son, Ngoc Son communes; seedless lychee, Israeli avocado, dragon fruit growing model of Ho Guom - Song Am CNC Agriculture Company Limited, Nguyet An commune...
In the district, 36 farms have also been developed that meet the criteria according to Circular No. 02/2020/TT-BNNPTNT, dated February 28, 2020 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The average annual production value of the farms ranges from 1.1 to 8 billion VND/year. Mr. Nguyen Van Hue, CEO of Ho Guom - Song Am CNC Agriculture Company Limited (Ngoc Lac), said: "With the attention of all levels, the company was assigned to manage an area of 901 hectares (Ngoc Lac district 507 hectares, Tho Xuan district 394 hectares). Currently, the company has invested in planting 27 hectares of seedless lychee, 10 hectares of red-fleshed dragon fruit, 34.5 hectares of four-season avocado, 130 hectares of pineapple... The unit also built 2,000m2 of high-tech greenhouses and membrane houses, installed equipment according to Israeli processes for hybridization, propagation and 4,000m2 of fruit tree nurseries... In 2023, the company had seedless lychee products exported to the Japanese and UK markets and was granted a Certificate of Protection for the variety "Ho Guom Ngoc Lychee". Currently, the company is continuing to propagate and expand the production area according to VietGAP and organic standards, applying the Internet of Things - IOT, growing area codes, online field diary - Diarry, building a database - Data... to meet the needs of the domestic and export markets.
To effectively exploit agricultural land funds, Ngoc Lac district is focusing on leading and directing the accumulation and concentration of land to develop large-scale, high-tech agriculture. The district actively supports farmers, enterprises and cooperatives in accumulating land to facilitate the development of commodity production on a large-scale, high-tech scale, improving land use coefficients and economic efficiency per unit of cultivated area. At the same time, promoting agricultural production based on the advantages of communes and towns, producing high-value, modern, sustainable, productive and quality goods. Gradually reducing the area of rice land without proactive water sources, the area of sugarcane land with low productivity and efficiency to grow crops with higher value and efficiency associated with market demand. Build 3 clean agricultural zones applying technology in Lam Son commune and surrounding areas (area of about 600 ha), Nguyet An commune (area of about 500 ha) and Loc Thinh commune (area of about 300 ha). Encourage people to renovate mixed gardens to develop fruit trees, forming large fruit growing areas with a scale of about 100 ha or more to create a brand for the export market. The district also encourages people, businesses, and cooperatives to develop concentrated farm livestock farming applying high technology in the direction of linking production with processing according to the value chain; speed up the implementation of livestock projects in the area, striving to increase the proportion of livestock farming in the value of agricultural production to 50% or more by 2025.
