"Taking a nap", an old poem

In the palette of poetry, each person seems to correspond to a different shade. Le Ba Duy gives us an idea of the neutral choice of extremes that are suitable for the muse's elegant dress. She does not try to create heat, does not like dislocation, and does not care about the collision and friction that causes much worry and sadness. Such poetry is easy to receive, not difficult to catch the wave, find sympathy and share.

He and I met at vnweblog.com, a bustling online forum, and from there, poetry blossomed with many mature writers later on. And the only time at the Hue Festival on the Huong River floating restaurant, when poetry began to speak, he and I had the chance to be close, even if only briefly in life.

Many people equate poetry with poets, this erroneous consequence leads to many troubles for those working in the creative environment, especially the narrative/current affairs/current events poetry genre. In every era, there are writers who are so unruly that they have to suffer this bitter fruit. Fortunately, the key of popular knowledge has opened the palaces of life for poetry to soar.

Reading Le Ba Duy's poems, one can see the image of the land and people of Binh Dinh with their heroic spirit, always holding their heads high in the face of difficulties and challenges, and especially, their romantic and boundless love. How can one forget the peach blossom branch that Nguyen Hue carried the joy of victory from Thang Long citadel on horseback to Hue to present to Princess Ngoc Han.

How can we forget the group of poets of Binh Dinh: Han Mac Tu, Che Lan Vien, Yen Lan, Quach Tan, Xuan Dieu... who once left their mark of poetry on this poetic land. Hardly any place can be proud of the Land of Martial Arts and Heaven. Literature and martial arts go hand in hand with the rise of the nation and the country. That is enough to activate the spiritual wealth of Binh Dinh people. Le Ba Duy must have received the blessings of heaven, the land, and the people who bestowed the grace of generations to be able to sow poetry again. Let's not talk about sure or not here, because the harvest is different every time. The compensation, besides the will of heaven, also requires the efforts of a laborer of letters. As a teacher, Le Ba Duy acknowledged that.

It can be seen that Nghieng takes a light and deep afternoon nap, full of life and brightness. Love for the countryside and family is like a sweet breeze that waters the poet's soul:

This morning the scent is as fragrant as honey.

colorful town

even if you go all over the world

my heart forever my motherland

(Hometown)

Poetry has the power to internalize the world. Through the author's poetic eyes, we hear the heart of Mother Nature beating with tolerance:

Fruitful season in the green eyes

Falling love year after year

The sparrow sings at the end of the fairy garden

The leaves of kindness cover the fruit of tolerance...

(Forbearance)

One must have faith in life in order to understand the harmony between heaven and earth and human hearts, under a warm and fresh gaze:

March, the cotton flowers are out of sight

clouds riding the wind in the middle of nostalgia

Blue sun warms up large spaces

I sit drying my youthful hair

(Like a dream)

Sometimes the poet hides so that the son can appear in flesh and blood, full of humanity and filial piety:

This afternoon I renewed the altar of my mother.

I'm happy but my eyes are burning

remember childhood or begging...

- that stubborn guy is so stubborn

(With mom this afternoon)

Elsewhere, sometimes in a harmonious relationship, the disturbing reality of life sometimes overwhelms the dream-reality and poetry cannot help but bear the pain of the breakup. Fortunately, thanks to the purification of a soul rich in love, we are awakened:

Falling apart because of lack of words

Falling sympathy falling painful invitations...

(Fall)

Therefore, it is easy to understand why the poet, who has a heavy heart for humanity all his life, finds it difficult to expose his "wastefulness":

I hold bitter hair in my hand

Go through the years of wear and tear

(Spring Poetry)

Le Ba Duy is a witness to intense passion. He loves words and is so obsessed with them that he is exhausted. Here is an example:

I lay down for a nap

Turning over and feeling pain in the body, plowing the field of literature

(Taking a nap)

Leaning for an afternoon nap, and even “night sleep”, people - lovers - poems always appear and disappear. Sometimes faintly, sometimes lingering like the face of a sixteen-year-old moon, awakening the sparkling waves of sunlight:

Fish breathe

night sleep slips into new day

brighten your face

(Written at 0:00)

What is gained from the collection of poems is the nurturing of love for humanity, love for life, which is familiar and close. But expressing that love is different for each individual. The main thing is to poeticize love to inlay it into memory and move people's hearts. Leaning over for an afternoon nap, one can feel the sincerity, authenticity and loveliness of a soul. Sometimes, just by lining a certain aspect firmly, poetry can live with time.
