Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Principal of Hanoi Medical University, announced this information at the Hanoi Medical University Youth Science and Technology Conference on June 12.

According to the Principal of Hanoi Medical University, scientific research is a compulsory capacity of medical students.

This is a scientific event for students, trainees and young lecturers under 40 years old of the school, held every 2 years, to encourage the young generation to do scientific research, and at the same time discover potential young scientists for Hanoi Medical University in particular and the medical sector in general.

Through this conference, the school will select outstanding researchers and scientific reports to attend the upcoming national youth science and technology conference.

According to Professor Tu, scientific research among students is not rare nowadays. Every university has a research environment for students and young staff. For Hanoi Medical University, scientific research is even more important. The school is striving to be the leading research university in Asia.

"Scientific research is a very important activity in schools. To create conditions for students and young staff to conduct scientific research, Hanoi Medical University has had many policies and mechanisms to promote scientific research in recent times," said Professor Tu.

Hanoi Medical University students present reports at science and technology conferences

This year's Hanoi Medical University Youth Science and Technology Conference received registrations from 99 research groups from 23 units/departments across the university. Of these, 65/99 reports, accounting for 65.7% of the total number of reports, were presented in English; 47/99 reporters, accounting for 47.5% of the total number of reporters, were students, and the remaining 52 reporters were young staff, resident medical students, and graduate students under 40 years old.

To encourage scientific reports in English, the conference organizers and the jury agreed to award 10 maximum points to reporters who present reports in English at the conference.
