Nghe An: The location of the North-South high-speed railway station is expected to be located near VSIP Industrial Park.
The North-South high-speed railway route through Nghe An will be 85.5 km long with the pick-up and drop-off point at Vinh station located in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province.
According to information from the Department of Transport of Nghe An province, the locality has submitted to the National Assembly a plan to select the location for the North-South railway station through Nghe An, which will be Vinh station.
According to the proposal, Vinh station is located in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province, between the 72m wide road axis of VSIP Industrial Park and the new National Highway 46 connecting the West with the city center. This is a 4-track station, all trains stop.
The train depot, which is the place for managing, stopping and maintaining Vinh train cars (depot), is located in Hung Tan and Hung Thang communes (now Hung Nghia commune), Hung Nguyen district, to serve the exploitation of the Ngoc Hoi - Vinh section.
The North-South high-speed railway section through Nghe An province has a total length of 85.5km, and is expected to have 2 staging stations to serve maintenance equipment (such as compactors, road choppers, ballast conditioners) and storage of supplies and materials.
Accordingly, station 1 is located in Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau district. This station serves the maintenance and repair work for the section of the line in front of Vinh station, belonging to the Thanh Hoa - Vinh section. Station 2 is combined in Vinh depot, to optimize the use of land fund and facilitate operations. This station serves the maintenance and repair work for the section of the line behind Vinh station, belonging to the Vinh - Ha Tinh section.
The section from Hoang Mai to Than Vu Mountain is expected to avoid Hoang Mai Cement Factory after passing Truong Lam Mountain, going west, lying between the current railway corridor and the highway, in compliance with local planning.
The route in Quynh Luu and Dien Chau districts runs parallel to the existing railway, about 100m to 400m to the West.
Section from Than Vu Mountain to Lam River: The route crosses Than Vu tunnel, avoids O O dam, and is located in the planning corridor through the Southeast Economic Zone. The railway mainly runs parallel to the East of the expressway, then sandwiched between the expressway and the Vinh City bypass.
