Nghe An will organize a ceremony to honor heroes, martyrs and soldiers of Dien Bien

Towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee issued a Plan to organize a meeting program to honor and pay tribute to heroes, martyrs, Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in Nghe An province.

According to statistics, in Nghe An province, the total number of Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign who are still alive is 1,328 people. Of these, there are 525 Dien Bien soldiers, 547 former youth volunteers, 172 frontline laborers, and 84 wounded soldiers. There are 705 families of martyrs, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.

According to the plan, on April 25, Nghe An province will hold a meeting to express gratitude to 250 delegates; visit and present gifts to Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, frontline workers and families of martyrs. Before that, the delegates will participate in a meeting with Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, frontline workers organized by the Central Government on April 6 in Thanh Hoa province.

The meeting program aims to honor the contributions of Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, expressing the deep gratitude of the Party, State and people to those who contributed to the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory "Resounding throughout the five continents, shaking the earth". Contributing to encouraging and motivating veterans, officers and soldiers of the armed forces in the province to continue to uphold and promote the qualities and glorious traditions of the Vietnam People's Army, together with the entire Party, people and army to successfully carry out the task of building and defending the Fatherland.

At the meeting, delegates gave many ideas to prepare for the solemn, thoughtful, meaningful and safe meeting program to honor and pay tribute to heroes, martyrs, soldiers, youth volunteers and frontline workers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in Nghe An province.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu emphasized that this is a meaningful activity, promoting the tradition of drinking water and remembering its source of the Party, State and people. Therefore, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee noted that the organization of activities to meet, visit, encourage and support the care of relatives of martyrs, Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers and frontline workers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign must be solemn, practical, meaningful and safe.

In addition, the organizing committee needs to ensure that the activities of visiting, encouraging, giving gifts, and expressing gratitude are directed to the right people, avoiding duplication and omission; using funds in a strict, public, transparent, and in accordance with regulations. At the same time, select and invite typical representatives who are in good health to attend, to propagate and educate the nation's traditional history to generations, especially the younger generation.
