Tu Ky Organic Rice Festival 2024

Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang affirmed: The 2024 Organic Rice Festival of Tu Ky district will not only bring interesting experiences to people and tourists but also encourage, motivate and recognize the contribution of the agricultural sector to the local and regional economy.

Mr. Tran Duc Thang emphasized that the festival is an opportunity for Hai Duong province to introduce and promote rice and crab products, specialties of Hai Duong province that have existed for many generations. Exploiting and preserving specialty seafood such as crab and crab combined with organic agricultural production brings high economic efficiency and contributes to protecting the environment and people's health. Hai Duong has been focusing on developing a multi-layered, multi-value agricultural economy based on the potential and advantages of each region and locality's specific agricultural sector.

Currently, the whole Tu Ky district has 8 areas exploiting aquatic specialties of earthworms and clams, combined with organic rice cultivation with an area of 550 hectares. Particularly, An Thanh commune, with the advantage of having many ponds, lakes, rivers, canals, and streams interspersed with residential areas and cultivated fields, with an area of alluvial land outside the dike of 214 hectares, is favorable for the growth and development of earthworms and clams, as well as organic rice cultivation.

Speaking at the event, Minister Le Minh Hoan highly appreciated the initiative of Hai Duong province and Tu Ky district in organizing the festival. The Minister said that the new mindset of 'Hai Duong people doing agriculture for humanity' needs to be widely implemented, with love for agriculture, love for nature, and cleaning and beautifying the environment. This is also an opportunity to introduce clean agricultural products to reach many domestic and foreign consumers.

Appreciating the organization of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Duong province and Tu Ky district, Minister Le Minh Hoan believes that in the coming time, with new thinking and ways of doing, the new rural areas of the locality will be increasingly improved and many agricultural products and agricultural specialties will be welcomed. The way of doing things of the people here will create a new revolution right in the consciousness and actions towards nature, human health and future generations...

At this year's festival, the Organizing Committee held a contest to cook organic specialty rice; a rice harvesting contest. Representatives of Bao Minh Agricultural Processing and Trading JSC, New Generation Agriculture JSC and An Thanh Commune Agricultural Service Cooperative signed a contract to link production with the consumption of organic products, cooperate in eco-tourism and experiences; at the same time, delegates cut the ribbon to sell the shipment of organic rice.
