With unique local “ingredients”, Dien Phuong ward (Dien Ban) has just launched a culinary culture festival and craft village tourism that left many impressions.
Taking place over two days, April 21-22, the first Dien Phuong Craft Village Culinary Culture and Tourism Festival in 2023 is a highlight to spread the quintessence of this homeland in the new journey - transforming from countryside to city. Rarely is there a land that converges rich indigenous values as the name of the festival as Dien Phuong.
Originally the location of Thanh Chiem citadel, Dien Phuong preserves cultural values formed and deposited during the process of expanding the territory to the South by previous generations.
There are still many historical and cultural relics and traces here such as statue ships, gun depots, granaries, foundry quarters, porcelain mounds, Phuoc Kieu church, An Nhon communal house, Nhon An pagoda, Hoi Phuoc pagoda, Lady Tam's funeral church, Quoc Ngu script...
In terms of cuisine, the two brands of Quang noodles Phu Chiem and roasted veal Cau Mong have gone beyond local boundaries and become famous specialties nationwide.
Dien Phuong also has many typical craft villages such as Phuoc Kieu bronze casting, Phu Triem rice paper village, Triem Tay split mat village... And with its location near Hoi An, Dien Phuong is also initially approaching tourism development opportunities.
The festival has gathered many old and new values, from the breath of a hundred years of traditional craft villages to the new vitality of OCOP products, unique startups and the open and friendly lifestyle and community activities of local residents.
The artisans and business owners who brought their hometown products and quintessence to the festival all expressed that they wanted the unique values of their hometown to be preserved, spread, and entered into social life, rather than focusing on commercial matters at the event.
According to Mr. Duong Phu Toan - Chairman of Dien Phuong Ward People's Committee, the festival aims to recreate a part of the living space from the past to the present of Dien Phuong residents and also support the subjects to continue the process of preserving and promoting the good values of the homeland.
Mr. Dang Huu Tu - Secretary of Dien Phuong Ward Party Committee said that throughout the development, Dien Phuong residents through generations have created, preserved and developed many unique tangible and intangible cultural values. This is a valuable resource for the locality to exploit and integrate in the process of turning Dien Phuong into a city with identity.
