Quang Ninh strives for a GRDP economic growth of 14% in 2025. To contribute to the province's successful implementation of the economic growth target, the agricultural sector has implemented many practical solutions, promoting production and business with the highest spirit, ensuring that it is suitable to the province's strengths.
In 2024, the agricultural sector will implement the plan in the context of many difficulties, challenges, and negative impacts from macroeconomic instability, world political and security fluctuations; natural disasters, and unusual developments of epidemics... Despite facing many difficulties, the entire sector has closely followed the province's Resolutions on socio-economic development and focused on leading and directing the implementation of appropriate solutions to achieve important results, basically completing the production plan in the context of being heavily impacted by natural disasters and epidemics.
Specifically, the annual crop planting area is estimated at 62,921.8 hectares, equal to 100.2% of the same period; grain crop output is estimated at over 212,000 tons, equal to 98.3% of the growth scenario, equal to 97.3% of the same period; the total herd of livestock and poultry is basically stable, the output of fresh meat is estimated at 102,000 tons, up 0.59% over the same period; the concentrated forest planting area is estimated at 14,363.4 hectares, up 5.5% over the same period; the output of exploited planted forest wood is estimated at 1,152,291m3, up 41.7% over the same period; the total output of aquatic products is estimated at 166,044 tons, equal to 93% of the same period...
Based on the achieved results, from the beginning of 2025, the agricultural sector has implemented many programs and activities to promote development, such as: Promoting sea transport; afforestation; promoting production and business activities at establishments and business households; developing OCOP products, searching for markets, etc.
Typically, since the beginning of the year, the whole province has had 5/9 localities including: Quang Yen, Cam Pha, Van Don, Hai Ha, Dam Ha have assigned sea areas to individuals under the authority of the district-level People's Committee with a total of 470 individuals, with a total area of 288.9 hectares; temporarily handed over the sea area boundary to restore production after the storm to a total of 1,208 individuals with an area of 8,588.76 hectares. The whole province strives to complete the assignment and temporary assignment of sea areas to households that are raising aquatic products according to the planning and grant aquaculture licenses to organizations and individuals raising aquatic products at sea with qualified documents by the end of March 2025. Strive to exceed the set target of aquaculture output (98,000 tons) and increase value, actively contribute to achieving the target of GRDP growth of the entire agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors and GRDP growth of the whole province at the highest level.
Mr. Dao Van Vu, Vice Chairman of Van Don District People's Committee, said: Up to now, Van Don district is actively promoting the recovery, reconstruction and encouraging people and businesses to promote production, promoting the strengths of local aquaculture. The district has directed specialized departments and offices to rearrange the aquaculture area according to the project and planned area. Temporarily hand over the location and water surface area based on the current status of households to people under the authority of the district level. Along with that, the district also promotes the guidance of people to implement the production process in all fields of agriculture, forestry and fishery to complete local growth targets and contribute to the province's growth target in 2025.
In addition to the difficulties, the agricultural sector implements the growth targets for 2025 in the context of many advantages from the core values that have been built and developed each year. Specifically, the structure of the agricultural sector is increasingly shifting in the right direction, from crop cultivation to livestock farming, promoting the development of the aquatic economy; the flexible and effective conversion of crop structure contributes to maintaining stability and ensuring food security; developing concentrated farm livestock, with key subjects (pigs, poultry, cows) increasingly receiving attention; the aquatic economy is shifting towards increasing the proportion of aquaculture output and reducing the proportion of exploitation output, the form of farming is shifting from extensive, semi-intensive to intensive, high-tech farming, prioritizing the development of sustainable marine farming associated with the protection of aquatic resources and implementing regulations against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; Production infrastructure, especially irrigation systems, have been invested in to meet the needs of domestic, industrial and aquaculture water supply, and to improve the ability to respond to natural disasters, floods and storms; the management, protection and sustainable development of forests are increasingly receiving attention...
To contribute to the province's GRDP economic growth rate of 14%, the agricultural sector aims to achieve a growth rate of 3.5%, which is very high in the context of being severely affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi). In particular, the total annual crop planting area is about 62,221ha, the output of grain crops is 215,860 tons; the total herd of livestock and poultry is 5,852,500, the output of fresh meat of all kinds is 103,000 tons; the concentrated forest planting area is 31,847ha (protection forest planting area is 2,724ha, production forest planting area is 29,123ha); the output of timber exploitation from planted forests is 1,058,660m3; the forest cover rate is over 42%, improving forest quality; Total aquatic product output is 175,000 tons, of which aquatic product exploitation output is 77,000 tons and aquaculture output is over 98,000 tons.
