Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien has 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations. Of which, 9 elevated stations (from Tan Cang station to National University station) under package 2 are designed with pedestrian bridges connecting passengers from both sides of Hanoi Highway, ensuring safe access for train passengers. This is also the main exit route of the station in case of emergency.

The pedestrian bridges are designed in harmony with the surrounding landscape and the main architecture of the elevated station (concrete structure, curved steel roof) creating a highlight for the elevated section through Thu Duc City.

The bridges are built to connect the passenger transfer floors of the elevated stations with residential areas and bus stations along the sides. One side of the bridge crosses the parallel road on the left side of Hanoi Highway (from Saigon Bridge to Suoi Tien).

On the other side, the overpass crosses the highway and the parallel road on the right, allowing passengers to safely enter and exit the station without having to cross the road.

In addition to helping passengers travel conveniently, the project also serves as an emergency exit in case of an accident at the station.

Currently, in addition to accelerating the relocation of technical infrastructure to synchronously construct the lower structure (bored piles, pillars, pile caps), the Urban Railway Management Board (MAUR - investor) has coordinated with the EPC General Contractor of Package No. 2, the SCC Joint Venture, to install the upper structure (including: reinforced concrete beams, prestressed; steel dome structure; roof panels; electromechanical systems and signs, etc.) at the High-Tech Park and Binh Thai stations. It is expected that the architectural items of these two stations will be completed before the Lunar New Year this year.

To ensure timely progress of exploitation and operation in the third quarter of this year, during the recent New Year, the contractor deployed 3 shifts (24/7), with a spirit of urgency and safety.

This construction work is planned in detail for each construction phase (scope and time of barriers, traffic diversion, safety signs, protective nets...) to minimize impact and ensure safety for daily traffic in the area.

In the coming time, the construction and installation of structures will continue at the remaining 7 pedestrian bridge locations. Some bridge locations have completed the substructure (piles, foundations, shafts, stairs) and are expected to install cross beams such as: Rach Chiec bridge (15.1); Phuoc Long and Tan Cang bridges (February).

Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro Line) has a total length of 19.7 km, including 2.6 km underground and 17.1 km elevated with 14 stations, 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations. The total investment after adjustment is 43,700 billion VND. The project has a route passing through districts 1, 2, 9, Binh Thanh, Thu Duc City (HCMC) and Di An (Binh Duong), expected to be put into commercial operation in the third quarter of 2024.
