President Vladimir Putin said that Russia certainly shares the desire of African countries to play a greater role in UN activities.

The head of Russia said that the African Union (AU) has a positive view on this issue and Moscow is ready to consider proposals to increase the presence of African countries in UN agencies, including proposals to reform the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

President Vladimir Putin also stressed the growing authority of African regional organizations, including the AU, which represent the views and aspirations of the wider region. Russia has actively supported the initiative to bring the AU into the Group of 20 (G20). This would be a correct decision, reflecting the realities and balance of power in the world today.

In his speech, President Putin mentioned the initiative to build cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to discuss the possibility of linking the integration processes between the two sides.

According to AP, regarding the Black Sea Grain Initiative, President Putin reaffirmed Russia's commitment to maintaining supplies of grain and agricultural products to Africa. Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Somalia, Eritrea and the Central African Republic will each receive 25,000 to 50,000 tons of Russian grain over the next 3-4 months.

Russia plans to expand trade and economic ties with Africa, while continuing efforts to reduce debt burdens by writing off $90 million in debt. Moscow is also ready to strengthen defense ties with African countries by providing military training and expanding military equipment supplies.
