On May 24, in an interview with TASS , when asked if Russia was considering the possibility of freezing the conflict, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov replied: "Russia is only considering completing the special military operation."
According to him, Moscow will ensure its interests, "achieving goals through special military operations or by other available means."
Besides, Kremlin officials said that it is too early to talk about a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine because there are currently no preconditions for this scenario.
Asked whether Moscow was ready to negotiate with anyone from the current Kiev government, Peskov replied: "This is unlikely, because any negotiations with Russia are prohibited in Ukraine."
A day earlier, speaking in Beijing while receiving his visiting Dutch counterpart Wopke Hoekstra, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said that currently, "there are more and more peaceful and reasonable voices supporting a ceasefire and ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict", so all sides should create favorable conditions for a peace process.
Also related to the Ukraine conflict, NTV news site on May 23 quoted Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban as saying that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is not willing to deploy allied troops to Ukraine.
“If you look at how things are going on the ground and the figures, the situation in general and the fact that NATO is reluctant to send troops to Kiev, you will see clearly that the Ukrainians will not be able to win on the ground,” the populist leader said.
In addition, Mr. Orban also supports the US intervention policy to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and calls on Washington and the European Union (EU) to reach an agreement with Moscow on the future security structure of Europe.
