In a press statement, Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhri condemned such proposals as "absurd and worthless", arguing that Israel would not achieve its intentions by force or through political games.
"The repeated statements by the United States about the displacement of Palestinians under the pretext of rebuilding the Gaza Strip demonstrate the country's complicity in crimes," Zuhri stressed.
President Trump on January 25 proposed a controversial plan to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt and Jordan. However, the plan was strongly opposed by both countries.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on January 29 publicly opposed Trump's plan for the first time, declaring that "relocating Palestinians from their homeland is an unjust act in which we cannot participate."
Jordan's King Abdullah II also expressed his firm stance of "keeping the Palestinians in their homeland", warning that the idea of pushing Palestinians to Jordan or Egypt was a "red line".
Arab foreign ministers on February 1 rejected the transfer of Palestinians from their land "under any circumstances or justification", thereby showing a unified stance against US President Donald Trump's call for Egypt and Jordan to accept residents of the Gaza Strip.
In a joint statement after a meeting in Cairo, foreign ministers and officials from Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Palestinian Authority and the Arab League expressed their desire to work with the Trump administration to achieve a just and broad peace in the Middle East, based on a two-state solution.
