"It is clear that the next wave of global economic growth is taking shape in developing countries, which make up the majority. Therefore, it is time to discuss the idea of creating a separate platform to unleash the potential of our developing economies," Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the expanded BRICS Summit in Kazan on October 24.
According to the Russian leader, the goal of the platform is to increase investment flows to the BRICS countries, the Southern Hemisphere and the Eastern Hemisphere, and focus on investing in major infrastructure and technology projects in those countries.

“It is important to build reliable and non-directive multilateral financial mechanisms for production chains, logistics, establish exchange of advanced technologies and knowledge, and develop,” Putin added.
At the same time, the Kremlin chief invited all interested countries to cooperate in projects such as the international North-South transport corridor and the Northern Sea Route.
Also at the conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the negative impacts of unilateral sanctions, protectionism, currency and stock market manipulation, and interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
Mr Putin also mentioned the worsening conflict in the Middle East. The Russian leader said the entire Middle East was on the brink of a full-scale war, as fighting that began a year ago in Gaza has now spread to Lebanon and other countries in the region.
Accordingly, ending violence and launching a comprehensive political process to resolve the issue and ensure peace in the Middle East is now an urgent task.
The Russian President stressed that BRICS wants to build a better world, where the opinions and interests of all peoples are heard and taken into account, respecting their sovereign right to development.
