Thanh Hoa province’s agriculture is gradually shifting towards improving quality, productivity and sustainable development. The agricultural sector and localities have actively promoted and encouraged enterprises, cooperatives and production households to apply mechanization and new science and technology in production. As one of the units that always actively innovate and improve product quality, every year, Tam Phu Hung High-tech Food Company Limited, Thieu Hoa town (Thieu Hoa) allocates a large amount of funding for research activities and technical improvements in production. With that goal, the company always focuses on reviewing input materials to the production process to bring quality products to the market. Up to now, the company has captured a large market share in supplying rice to localities in the province and is gradually expanding the market to many provinces and cities across the country. The entire rice area is 100% produced by the company according to VietGAP quality standards. Currently, the company has 3 products: Tam An rice, Tam Binh rice and Japonica rice that meet OCOP 4-star standards in 2021. In 2024, the unit strives for production and consumption output to grow by more than 25% over the same period.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Cuong, deputy director of the company, said: “Currently, consumers are increasingly demanding on product quality, forcing businesses, cooperatives, or any production unit to improve their knowledge and innovate technology to meet market demand. This is an important factor for units to maintain their position and is also an opportunity to create momentum for businesses to increase revenue and profits.”
To improve product quality, Lam Son High-tech Agricultural Research and Development Center under Lam Son Sugarcane Joint Stock Company (Tho Xuan) has invested more than 300 billion VND to build a high-tech agricultural production area with an area of 124 hectares; including building more than 20 hectares of greenhouses and membrane houses using Israeli technology, directly producing high-quality flowers, vegetables, tubers and fruits. In addition to applying high technology to production, the center also applies AI (artificial intelligence) systems in the cultivation process. All information is reported to the server system, the manager will rely on it to check, review and warn the technical team of any unusual signs, thereby making appropriate adjustments. In addition, the center also coordinates the harvesting and transportation of vehicles on a smart application, avoiding congestion, wrong routes or delays. From the "smooth" combination of labor and high-tech machinery system, Lam Son Sugarcane Joint Stock Company's products always have high quality.
In recent times, enterprises, cooperatives and agricultural production units in the province have continuously improved product quality in all fields of cultivation, livestock and aquaculture. According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the current rate of high-tech agricultural production value is about 25% of the total agricultural production value of the whole province. Most of the agricultural models applying high technology have achieved good efficiency in terms of productivity, quality and profit. On average, in a year, the cultivation models achieve a profit of about 200 million VND/ha; livestock profits 500 - 600 million VND/ha; aquaculture from 2 - 5 billion VND/ha.
In order to gradually improve the quality of agricultural products, the agricultural sector and localities actively promote to farmers the benefits of applying science and technology, digital transformation in production. At the same time, promote the development of concentrated, large-scale, high-tech agricultural production areas, certified by VietGAP.
