On August 26, the South African Parliament issued a statement on the success of the 15th BRICS Summit held in Johannesburg from August 22-24, praising the summit's outcomes as "testament" to the visionary leadership and unwavering commitment of the BRICS countries.

"The outcomes of the 15th BRICS Summit demonstrate a strong spirit of international cooperation, emphasizing multilateralism, peaceful resolution of conflicts and pursuit of sustainable development," the statement said.
Specifically, the Declaration underscores the Summit’s commitment to addressing economic inequality, promoting growth, and exploring innovative financial solutions that promise to advance not only the BRICS nations but also resonate as a source of progress and stability for Africa and the rest of the world.
In the statement, the South African Parliament also welcomed the decision to expand BRICS by admitting new member states, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The statement affirmed that "BRICS enlargement represents a strategic step towards promoting development cooperation, innovation and strengthening economic ties", as well as "bringing new opportunities to harness collective strengths to address economic disparities, promote sustainable growth and amplify the voice of developing countries globally".
