
Welcoming the National Assembly Chairman and his wife along with the high-ranking delegation of our country at Zvartnots International Airport were: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan; Ambassador of Armenia to Vietnam Suren Baghdasaryan; Head of the Armenia - Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group Hasmik Hakobyan; and officials of the Armenian National Assembly.
On the Vietnamese side, there were Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation, concurrently serving as Armenian Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation.

This official visit to Armenia by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man is the first visit by a key leader of the Party and State of Vietnam to Armenia since the two countries established diplomatic relations (in 1992).
The visit aims to continue implementing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, proactiveness and activeness in comprehensive and extensive international integration in the spirit of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolutions and Conclusions of the Central Committee on a number of major tasks and solutions to implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress and international integration... At the same time, affirming Vietnam's consistent policy of always attaching importance to and wishing to strengthen relations with traditional friends, including Armenia, affirming the determination to work with Armenia to promote cooperation in many aspects; consolidate and enhance mutual understanding, promote political dialogue at the highest level on the National Assembly channel, exchange measures to promote cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Armenia; creating a favorable environment to promote mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation with Armenia, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, education, training, sports, tourism, and local cooperation.


According to the program, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will have high-level talks with National Assembly Chairman Alen Symonyan, meet with President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan; visit Yerevan State University; receive the Head of the Armenia-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; attend the Armenia-Vietnam Business Forum...
Throughout the history of bilateral relations, Vietnam has enjoyed a good traditional friendship with Armenia. Armenia has always considered Vietnam an important partner in the Southeast Asian region. The two countries have maintained delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels, including high-level ones. The most recent was the meeting between General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the occasion of attending the Francophone Summit in France (2024) and the official visit to Vietnam by Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan (November 2024).
Cooperation between the two countries' parliaments continues to be maintained, especially since the visit to Vietnam by the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament. The Armenian Parliament has established the Armenia-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group since 2021.
Economic, trade and investment cooperation The bilateral trade between the two countries has been actively promoted in recent years after the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) took effect in 2016. Two-way trade turnover in 2023 reached 342 million USD, and in 2024 it reached nearly 500 million USD. Armenia has a number of investment projects in Vietnam, including the Electronic Components Factory in Chu Lai Industrial Park, Quang Nam with a total registered capital of 12.9 million USD. The two countries have established an Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade and Scientific and Technical Cooperation, which held its first meeting in March 2017.
