This morning, January 5, the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) held the 2nd meeting of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, term XIII, to summarize union activities in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024. In 2023, trade union activities achieved many important results. The organization of trade union congresses at all levels was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union. The 13th Congress of the Provincial Trade Union for the 2023 - 2028 term was organized scientifically, in accordance with regulations, the content of the documents was carefully and elaborately prepared; patriotic emulation movements among workers, civil servants and laborers took place enthusiastically and widely, many meaningful works, products and jobs to care for union members and laborers in difficult circumstances were well organized, creating a strong effect in society.

The work of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers has been effectively implemented. There have been 319 enterprises with trade union organizations giving Tet bonuses to workers. At the programs "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month", commemorating the founding day of Vietnam Trade Union..., trade unions at all levels visited and presented 13,728 gifts with a total value of 9.6 billion VND to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. The trade union organized 9 dialogues with enterprises, mainly on resolving policies and regimes for workers at the direct superior trade union at the grassroots level, and 216 at the grassroots level. Trade unions at all levels also proactively participated in and coordinated to effectively implement the grassroots democracy regulations, and strengthened supervision of the implementation of the grassroots democracy regulations at agencies, units and enterprises.

Women's work has achieved many important results. 417 trade unions continued to launch the movement "Raising piggy banks - Giving love" with a total amount of more than 1 billion VND, supporting 931 female union members and workers in difficult circumstances...

Trade unions at all levels have promoted the effective organization of patriotic emulation movements among workers and launched a peak emulation campaign to welcome trade union congresses at all levels with many practical contents and forms, closely aligned with the grassroots. The work of developing union members and building strong grassroots unions has been focused on. In 2023, 2,162 new union members were developed and 29 grassroots unions in the enterprise sector were established. 1,088 outstanding union members were introduced to the Party for consideration of admission, 519 outstanding union members were admitted to the Party, including 35 workers...

In 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor set specific targets such as: striving for the whole province to have 43,000 union members; establishing 25 new grassroots unions; at least 92% of enterprises and units with union organizations signing collective labor agreements; building 27 union shelters and 6 public accommodations for officials in difficult areas; on average, each grassroots union introduces at least 1 outstanding union member for the Party to consider and admit... To achieve the targets, the Provincial Federation of Labor set out 8 groups of key tasks and solutions that need to be focused on in 2024.

On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded Emulation Flags to 2 collectives; awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in building a strong trade union movement; awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Program "1 million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic"; The Provincial Confederation of Labor awarded Emulation Flags to 9 collectives with many achievements.
