Responding to the press about his working trip to attend the Future Summit, the High-level General Debate of the 79th General Assembly and work in the US, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said that he had successfully achieved all the goals and tasks set out with nearly 50 bilateral and multilateral activities of the General Secretary and President.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs said that in the context of the world undergoing epochal changes, the Future Summit and the United Nations General Assembly attracted the attention and participation of a large number of member countries with more than 155 heads of state and government.

“This is also a working trip taking place one year after Vietnam and the US officially upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the two countries are preparing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations,” said Mr. Son.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also said that this is the first multilateral foreign trip of General Secretary and President To Lam to directly attend the United Nations General Assembly.
Through the important speeches of the General Secretary and President, we have conveyed a strong and clear message at the highest level about foreign policy, expressing Vietnam's aspirations in the era of national growth, demonstrating respect and strong support for multilateralism, international law and the United Nations Charter.
At the same time, sharing observations and working with other countries to propose important policy directions to address global challenges, Vietnam has continued to demonstrate and portray an image of Vietnam as peaceful, stable, friendly, dynamic, innovative, trustworthy and responsible to the international community.
“All of these continue to help affirm the growing role, position and prestige of Vietnam, a country entering an era of rising on the international arena,” the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed.

At the meetings, partners expressed their appreciation for Vietnam's growing position, role and voice in the international arena, and agreed to promote comprehensive cooperation in all fields.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said that General Secretary and President To Lam had 27 meetings and contacts with officials, former officials of the government, the National Assembly, the business community, friends, experts, scholars, students and overseas Vietnamese in the US.

Regarding the US, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said that the working trip contributed to creating a solid foundation for ministries, sectors and localities to promote strategic, breakthrough, practical and mutually beneficial cooperation. The two countries continued to strengthen political trust through contacts and delegation exchanges at all channels and levels, especially at the high level.
The two countries promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, the key areas and driving forces of bilateral relations, creating a favorable environment for businesses on both sides.
