As of the evening of September 27 (local time), authorities have recorded 44 deaths due to the effects of super storm Helene and millions of people are living without power across states in the southeastern United States.
After making landfall near Tallahassee, the state capital of Florida, the storm moved north, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. According to the website poweroutage.us, more than 4.2 million customers were without power across 10 states, from Florida to Ohio.
Although it has weakened to a tropical depression, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) warns that the storm still causes severe flooding and the risk of flash flooding in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
