On August 28, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Information and Communications Industry, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung had a sharing and discussion session with all officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in 34 agencies and units under the Ministry, with the topic: Information and Communications Industry: Challenges and opportunities in the digital age. This is not the first time the head of the industry has spoken and answered the concerns of workers in the industry, but this time it had the largest number of participants.
Held at 11 online locations in 3 regions: Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, the exchange session also had the participation of Deputy Ministers of Information and Communications Phan Tam, Nguyen Huy Dung, Nguyen Thanh Lam and Bui Hoang Phuong.
Choosing the industry's tradition as the opening content of the talk, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that the 10 golden words " Loyalty - Courage - Dedication - Creativity - Compassion" were born in the practice of the industry and are also the identity of the industry and the Ministry of Information and Communications. These ten golden words were left by previous generations and the current generation needs to understand and use them as provisions in life and work. "An organization that does not inherit its roots is like losing its roots", Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized.
However, according to the analysis of the head of the Ministry of Information and Communications, previous generations were moved when they saw the 10 traditional golden words of the industry, but for the current generation, in order to maintain and continue the flow of traditional history, the 10 golden words need to be "breathed into life", with new connotations suitable for the current era. With that point of view, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung spent a lot of time in the talk explaining the new connotations, the manifestations of each quality "Loyalty", "Courage", "Dedication", "Creativity", "Loyalty" associated with current reality, with specific examples from situations and stories at the agencies and units within the Ministry.
At the same time, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung also once again thoroughly explained the content and core values in the current motto of the Ministry of Information and Communications, which is: "Set an example - Discipline - Focus - Breakthrough" , with the hope that all cadres, employees and workers in the Ministry and industry understand and apply it in daily life.
Reviewing the outstanding achievements of previous generations in the first innovation, the Ministry of Information and Communications stated the requirement: With better conditions, the dreams of the current generation must be greater than the previous generation; The next generation must be better than the previous generation for the industry and the country to develop.
In fact, the current generation has inherited the industry's tradition and has made new developments, achieving many new achievements, typically: From where foreigners came to invest in telecommunications, Vietnam has reached out, investing in providing telecommunications services in many countries around the world; From purchasing foreign equipment for use, Vietnam is realizing the dream of building a network with equipment produced in Vietnam; 1,500 digital technology enterprises have revenue from the international market of up to 10 billion dollars... These fundamental changes have contributed to the stronger development of the industry and the country compared to the previous period; At the same time, maintaining the continuous flow in the history of always being a pioneer and leader of the industry.

Besides wishing that the collective of workers of the Ministry continue to uphold the tradition, inherit the past to move forward and open a new future, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung also affirmed: The industry and the Ministry of Information and Communications currently play an important role, with the mission of being the wings for Vietnam to fly up to become a strong and prosperous country, becoming a developed country by 2045. "The mission is bigger, we must try harder!", Minister Nguyen Manh Hung advised.
The head of the Information and Communications sector also shared his enthusiasm and frankness about the orientation and some tasks of the Ministry in the current period such as staff rotation, 2 stages in digital transformation of units, reducing the workload for workers by investing in digital tools, virtual assistants, finding new approaches when facing difficulties, work attitude...
Specifically, from the positive results of the rotation and secondment of cadres of the Ministry of Information and Communications to localities, ministries and branches in the past 5 years, the Minister pointed out: Rotating cadres creates a healthy and vibrant organization, helping cadres to mature, have new awareness and work better. According to the Minister, in order to have enough cadres and improve the quality of cadres, recently, the Ministry of Information and Communications has put forward the idea of connecting cadres in the Ministry of Information and Communications with cadres nationwide, connecting cadres of the Ministry with public service units and enterprises in the industry.
Affirming that reducing the workload for workers is the responsibility of the leadership, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that the Ministry of Information and Communications is developing a virtual assistant to support officials and civil servants and building an online reporting system to reduce the number of reports sent to the Ministry by 10 times each year. "Agencies and units in the Ministry must invest in technology, develop tools, and develop knowledge systems so that employees in the unit can work less hard and have fun and excitement," the head of the Information and Communications sector emphasized.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung noted that workers need to look at the good things about working in state agencies to work happily and passionately. When they are passionate and enthusiastic, workers will not feel pressured by their work. In cases where they are passionate but cannot find a solution and find it difficult to do, workers can ask their leaders for solutions to make difficult tasks easier.
During the talk, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung also answered the concerns and worries of employees: How to create culture in the organization, how to make the organization excellent, whether to trust virtual assistants, the 'lifespan' of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and Fintech, how the teaching profession will change in the context of AI development, how to evaluate students when letting them use AI...
Closing the discussion, the head of the Information and Communications sector hoped that the officers and employees in the Ministry would unite, work together to fulfill their unit's tasks well, and have passion and joy in their work. The leaders of the units in the Ministry must create an environment for the agency to become the second home of the employees.
