The Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have just signed a program to coordinate the implementation of economic diplomacy, contributing to promoting the development of science and technology and innovation in the 2024-2026 period.
In recent times, the Ministry of Science and Technology has coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to build a network of Vietnamese science and technology representative offices abroad, aiming to help Vietnamese enterprises learn, meet, connect, and transfer technology with host countries; attract and effectively use resources from abroad and international organizations, take advantage of the opportunities of the 4th industrial revolution to absorb and master advanced science and technology achievements and new technologies; at the same time attract science and technology intellectual resources and Vietnamese scientists abroad.
Recently, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Berlin (Germany), the Embassy, the Vietnam Science and Technology Representative Office in Germany and the Vietnam - Germany Innovation Network (VGInetwork) organized a meeting between Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat and Vietnamese scientists and intellectuals in Germany, to listen to policy proposals, answer questions from scientists, and promote science and technology cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat affirmed that over the years, overseas Vietnamese and overseas intellectuals have always turned to the Fatherland, stood side by side with the nation and the domestic science and technology community, making great and practical contributions to the cause of national construction and development. The team of more than 500,000 overseas intellectuals, many of whom hold important positions in research institutes, universities, and prestigious business corporations around the world, is a valuable source of scientific human resources for the country.
Minister Huynh Thanh Dat affirmed that the Ministry of Science and Technology always pays attention to and builds favorable legal corridors for Vietnamese scientists at home and abroad to participate in research and innovation activities in the country. The Ministry of Science and Technology appreciates the participation and intellectual contributions of scientists to science and technology activities in the homeland, for national science and technology programs and projects, joint research cooperation projects with German research institutes and universities; consulting, policy planning and training domestic science and technology human resources, acting as a bridge to open and expand cooperation with German science and technology organizations.
To achieve the goals and tasks of promoting the development of science and technology and innovation, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to closely coordinate with relevant ministries and branches in the process of building and implementing mechanisms and policies, promoting activities to attract and encourage Vietnamese intellectuals, experts and scientists abroad to contribute to the cause of science and technology and innovation and sustainable development of the country. That is also the expansion and development of the country's science and technology potential, in order to take advantage of the opportunities of the 4th industrial revolution, the world's digital process with new technologies; to bring the country to develop quickly, sustainably, and adapt to the rapid changes of the times.
