In recent times, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tam Loc commune has diversified its forms of propaganda, mobilization, gathering, and widely uniting the people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the locality's tasks. A typical example is the model of "Volunteering for community life" joining hands to eliminate temporary houses for poor households.
In 2024, according to Resolution No. 13, dated September 22, 2023 of the Provincial People's Council, Tam Loc commune was supported to build 21 new houses, each case was supported with 60 million VND. Although supported by all levels, in the 21 cases above, there are 7 poor and near-poor households, so it is very difficult to have enough conditions to build new houses.
In order to reduce costs for these households, in early 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tam Loc commune met and agreed to build a model of "Volunteering for community life". The model is implemented to help poor and near-poor households build houses, with specific tasks such as helping with labor to dismantle old houses, digging house foundations, etc.
Since the model was born, Tam Loc Commune Front together with other organizations have participated in dismantling 7 houses for poor and near-poor households with nearly 140 working days; on average, each case is supported with 14-20 working days to dismantle old houses.
Mr. Vo Ngoc Hong - Chairman of Tam Loc Commune Front, shared: “When mobilized to support households in dismantling their houses, everyone was very happy and ready to arrange their time and work to participate immediately. The tasks were assigned specifically, whoever had any tools brought them along to do it together. Everyone joined hands so the progress was very fast and effective.”
As one of the households supported under the above model, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh in Dai Quy village, Tam Loc commune, shared: “When the authorities showed interest in supporting us to build a house, my family was very happy, but at the same time, we were also worried because we did not have the funds and construction workers. Fortunately, my family received support from the Tam Loc Commune Front and the Dai Quy Village Front Working Committee to help our family dismantle the old house and dig the foundation to build a new house.”
With the dedication and enthusiasm in the "skillful mass mobilization" work of the Tam Loc Commune Front cadres, together with the love of the village and the neighborhood, the model "Volunteering for community life" has been effectively implemented. The content of the model is close to the practical needs of the locality, enthusiastically participated by the people, creating a spreading effect in society.
“In the coming time, we will continue to promote, promote and mobilize more forces to participate in the model. At the same time, we will also expand the support objects, especially the vulnerable cases,” said Mr. Hong.
