With many useful features and fast spreading speed, in recent years, social networks have become a tool for young people to update and search for information about tourism services. Sometimes, just a video or a beautiful, inspiring image is enough for young people to decide to "pack their bags and go".
Many young people come to visit, experience and check-in at Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area (Ba Thuoc).
For young people, social networking applications have brought many more interesting experiences and journeys in each trip. With just a few simple searches on social networks such as Zalo, website, YouTube, Instagram... many young people can find all kinds of information, vivid and realistic images and videos about tourist destinations. From there, they can choose a destination that suits their interests and plan a reasonable spending plan for their trip. Ms. Mai Hoa (Nong Cong) shared: "I just had a short trip to Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area (Ba Thuoc). The reason I came here is because when I went to fanpages or groups sharing information about tourism, I found this place quite beautiful, the natural scenery is also green, and I got to experience and discover many new things. Thanks to carefully researching information on social networks, I made a specific and detailed schedule for my trip. When I arrived here, I also checked in quite a few beautiful pictures. After returning, I quickly posted those pictures on zalo, facebook to share information about the destination with friends and relatives."
Young people today tend to like surfing tiktok, facebook... so sometimes just a beautiful video or image that inspires is enough for them to decide to "pack their bags and go". Mai Anh (Thanh Hoa City) shared: "Many times I have no plans to travel, but suddenly I surf social networks and see a tourist destination posted and shared that is suitable and attractive, then I am ready to invite my friends to "go backpacking". "Going backpacking" is comfortable and pleasant, completely different from going on a tour, because here I am free to explore nature, people... and can go anywhere I like".
Nowadays, many young “backpackers” have also set up travel groups to share information, introduce, guide, experience about travel trips, and convenient ways to travel. Therefore, just go to Google and type in the phrase “Travel experience sharing group” and hundreds of search results will appear such as: “Sharing travel experiences around the world”, “Travel experience”, “Sharing travel experiences here and there”, “Sharing experiences and supporting tourist visas”... In addition to articles, these pages also actively update images, beautiful attractions, introduce hotels, homestays, restaurants, local specialties... These are all useful travel guides for everyone. Therefore, most of these pages attract a lot of followers and interactions every day.
In fact, the young generation is becoming a potential tourist segment. Because in addition to traveling frequently, they also actively post information and images of destinations on social networks. From there, helping to promote and spread the image of Thanh tourism to friends and tourists from all over the world. Sharing about this issue, Mr. Vi Van Ngo, owner of a homestay in Ma village (Thuong Xuan), said: "In the past time, my family's community tourism spot has attracted quite a lot of tourists to come here to visit and check-in. Among them, there are many young people from both inside and outside the province. Most of the young people who come here travel independently, only need a motorbike, a backpack with a few necessary things and a camera. During the process of coming to eat and stay at the homestay here, many young people shared with me that the reason they know about Ma village is also thanks to searching for information on social networks, and they chose my family's homestay because they saw the beautiful pictures posted on social networks, many people who have stayed here also commented that the service is quite good. We also regularly pay attention to posting pictures, sharing videos, introducing destinations, and culinary dishes of Ma village on social networks, so many people have known and come here to visit and relax. In addition, thanks to young people who check-in and post on social networks such as Facebook, Zalo, TikTok..., Ma village's tourism images are increasingly shared widely and known to many tourists.
To meet the needs of tourists using social networks to search for information about tourism services, the tourism industry in the province has actively implemented a digital transformation program and applied information technology in tourism management and development. Up to now, the digitalization and application of Smart Travel has been deployed in a number of tourist areas and destinations (Lam Kinh, Thanh Nha Ho, Am Tien, Pu Luong, Ma village, May waterfall, Song temple, Cua Dat temple) to support promotion, help tourists learn and experience destinations; implement promotion on digital platforms (facebook, fanpage, tiktok). At the same time, implement the project to build an electronic information portal on tourism and smart tourism applications on mobile devices in Thanh Hoa province; the project to maintain the operation of the information system and database to manage tourism activities in Thanh Hoa province...
With the convenience and effectiveness that social networks bring in promoting tourism and attracting tourists, especially the young generation, in addition to the active and proactive participation of all levels, sectors, units, and tourism businesses, it is advisable to encourage each social network user, especially young people, to be more active in regularly and continuously posting beautiful images of tourist attractions in the province on social networks. From there, contributing to introducing and promoting images, information about tourism, cultural beauty and people of Thanh land to a large number of friends and tourists.
