Nearing Chol-chnam-thmay, besides the excitement of most Khmer people, there are still many families who have to celebrate Tet in difficult circumstances. Understanding and sharing the feelings of the people, the program of giving scholarships and gifts to poor and studious Khmer students has brought joy to them. The scholarships and gifts in the form of rice bags, although not of great material value, are a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping many Khmer families to enjoy a warm Tet, temporarily forgetting their difficulties. The happy, beautiful smile of a student receiving a gift has made Chol-chnam-thmay even more radiant with joy.
