The Vietnam-Korea Cooperation Center is also known as the Samsung Hope School Bac Ninh. This is the first school in the Samsung Hope School project series - one of many key social responsibility projects with the mission of spreading knowledge, sharing vision and creating the future for the young generation of Vietnam.
Samsung Bac Ninh Hope School was built and put into operation in 2013 in Lac Ve commune, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh with the desire to support students living near the Samsung factory. The school is built with modern facilities, a synchronous system including: Classroom area, Multi-purpose area, library, football field, cafeteria. It provides after-school extracurricular courses such as IT, fine arts, foreign languages and soft skills to help students have a solid foundation to nurture their dreams.
After 10 years of operation, Samsung Bac Ninh Hope School has brought opportunities to live and study in a healthy, dynamic environment, explore their dreams and develop comprehensively for more than 2,000 Bac Ninh children, making positive contributions to the development of Bac Ninh province's education.
To date, a total of 62 students have graduated from this school. Thanks to the knowledge acquired here, the rate of students being admitted to universities has also increased.
The celebration also marked the completion of the renovation project of Samsung Bac Ninh Hope School by Samsung to provide students with a comfortable and safe learning environment.
Accordingly, since May 2023, Samsung Vietnam has renovated the school's facilities including playgrounds, toilets, water tanks, soccer fields, glass domes, etc., as well as provided new equipment such as printers, refrigerators, water purifiers, etc., and donated additional books to the school's library. The total renovation cost is more than 1 billion VND.
After a 10-year journey of developing the Samsung Hope School project in Vietnam, from the first Hope School in Bac Ninh, the journey of helping the dreams of the young generation of Vietnam has been extended by Samsung with a series of Hope School projects in many provinces and cities: Thai Nguyen (2018), Bac Giang (2021), Lang Son (2022) bringing learning and development opportunities to more than 5,000 children in difficult circumstances.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Choi Joo Ho - General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex said: “Our future depends a lot on the young people who are growing up. And supporting them to pursue their dreams is the mission of all of us. President Ho Chi Minh said 'For the benefit of 10 years, we must plant trees, for the benefit of a hundred years, we must cultivate people'. I think this is a saying that awakens us to invest in people, which is the best investment that creates great and long-term results. It has been 10 years since the establishment and operation of Samsung Bac Ninh Hope School. However, it can be said that these are just the first steps in that 100-year journey".
Samsung Hope School is one of many key social responsibility projects with the mission of spreading knowledge, sharing vision and creating the future for the young generation of Vietnam. Based on a survey of the needs and actual situation of the locality regarding programs and extracurricular activities for primary school students, especially children in difficult circumstances, from poor and near-poor households with little access to extracurricular programs, the project builds a system of supporting facilities to serve the teaching of extracurricular classes and organizes supplementary programs for children participating in the project.
With the aim of creating comprehensive educational development opportunities, Samsung Hope School is implementing the “Child Development Programme (CDP)” for about 500 disadvantaged students from primary to secondary school in the locality. The child development programme not only provides students with learning opportunities suitable for the high-tech industrial era such as information technology, programming, and career experience, but also provides opportunities to learn special talents, foreign languages such as English, Korean, music, fine arts, physical education, etc. In addition, students will participate in gender training programs, health check-ups, and community support activities around the school such as medical support activities, etc.
