Number of tourists to Binh Thuan increased sharply

In the first 6 months of the year, tourism activities in the province were quite vibrant with a sharp increase in the number of visitors. The whole province welcomed 4.46 million visitors, an increase of 86% over the same period in 2022 (reaching 66% of the annual plan). Of which, international tourists reached 133,000 visitors, an increase of 5 times over the same period last year. Revenue from tourism activities reached 11,348 billion VND, an increase of 2.5 times over the same period in 2022.

In addition to the advantages of nature and climate, the number of tourists has increased sharply because Binh Thuan has been completing its transport infrastructure; focusing on improving service quality, taking advantage of opportunities from the inaugurated and put into operation of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressways, shortening the travel time of tourists. Along with that, the successful organization of the opening ceremony and activities of the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" has become a great opportunity for Binh Thuan tourism to become a bright spot in the development of tourism in the Central region and the whole country.

2023 is identified as the year for the country's tourism industry to recover strongly. In that context, Binh Thuan promotes and develops tourism in association with the deployment of digital technology and smart tourism systems to serve tourism promotion, ensuring convenience and attractiveness to attract a large number of visitors from the provinces to visit and relax, especially during holidays and Tet.

The inspection and examination of compliance with regulations on ensuring tourist safety, security, order, prices, and environmental sanitation at tourist areas are basically guaranteed. New tourist routes have been formed and strongly developed, attracting a large number of visitors such as: Phu Quy Island tourist route, Provincial Party Committee base relic site during the resistance war against the US, etc.

To achieve the goal of attracting 6.7 million visitors, including 220,000 international visitors and total revenue from tourists in 2023 reaching 15,900 billion VND. From now until the end of the year, the tourism industry will continue to promote tourism promotion activities in many forms and channels to develop new tourist markets.

Specifically, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism implements synchronous solutions, comprehensively reviews the facilities, infrastructure, and business services serving tourism to build the image of a "Safe - Friendly - Attractive - Quality" destination, maintaining the Binh Thuan tourism brand. Along with that, the Department directs tourism businesses in the province to continue investing in developing new and attractive types of tourism; invest in improving the quality of services for tourists, and at the same time advise the Provincial People's Committee to successfully organize the remaining activities of the 2023 National Tourism Year "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence".

Local People's Committees should step up propaganda about the tourism environment; strengthen management, ensure security and order, environmental sanitation, rescue at tourist attractions, coastal beaches; take measures against littering by locals and tourists, and provide enough trash cans and messages about maintaining public hygiene at tourist attractions in the area.
