We arrived at Border Guard Intermediate School 24 in the early evening of March 29. The unit had just received orders for a few hours, but we saw officers and soldiers urgently arranging military equipment, tools, equipment, and food into suitcases and styrofoam boxes to ensure the search and rescue operation and overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in Myanmar that would last about 20 days.
Although the weather outside was cold and rainy, the room of the 9 comrades assigned to go to Myanmar was hot because they and their teammates were busy, tirelessly arranging necessary items for personal life and mission, such as: clothes, blankets, flashlights, walkie-talkies, tent frames, generators, medicine, instant noodles, dry food...

While packing his things and chatting with us, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien, Team Leader of the Trainer and Service Dog Team participating in the search and rescue operation to overcome the consequences of the earthquake in Myanmar, said: "As soon as we received the order from our superiors, we urgently made preparations because tomorrow we have to gather and leave for Myanmar. The unit also checked the health status of the 6 service dogs participating in this search and rescue operation. These are dogs with good physical strength and flexible nerves, and have previously participated in search and rescue operations in Türkiye and Lang Nu village in Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province."

At 10 p.m. on March 29, all preparations for the forces participating in the search and rescue operation were completed by the Border Guard Intermediate School 24, ready to depart for Myanmar the next day. Talking with the school's commanders, we learned that in order to be ready to participate in the search and rescue operation and overcome the consequences of the earthquake in Myanmar, the Border Guard Intermediate School 24 has made a list of 4 teams of officers, trainers and service dogs with the same number of personnel (1 official team, 3 reserve teams). The 3 reserve teams are always ready so that when the superiors give orders, they can leave immediately. Thanks to this initiative, the school's officers, soldiers and service dogs are always able to promptly carry out tasks in emergency situations.

He expressed his belief that the school's officers, trainers and service dogs, who have been thoroughly trained and have a lot of experience, will continue to successfully complete the search and rescue mission, practically helping the people of Myanmar, thereby contributing to enhancing the tradition of the Vietnam Border Guard, creating a good impression of the Vietnam People's Army to international friends.
