On the night of March 20, a fire suddenly broke out in Giap Bat area (Hoang Mai, Hanoi). The area on fire was a motel. The fire broke out fiercely in the middle of the night, causing panic among many residents. Authorities were also quickly dispatched to the scene.

"When the fire broke out, everyone was sleeping. When they heard the screams, everyone ran away," said Nguyen Van Hung, a neighbor. The fire was brought under control at around 1 a.m. on March 21.

Speaking to VietNamNet reporter, a fire prevention officer of Hoang Mai district said: "The house that caught fire had 3 generations living together. When the fire broke out, the fire prevention force arrived at the scene to rescue and bring 8 people in the house out. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any human casualties. The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by the authorities."
