(NLDO)- Ho Chi Minh City is asking for opinions on naming some national highways and major projects after leaders such as Do Muoi, Le Duc Anh, Le Kha Phieu, Phan Van Khai...
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just sent an official dispatch to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to seek opinions on naming streets, public works and adjusting routes in the area.
Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City plans to name 4 national highways, 11 existing roads, 2 public works and adjust the route of 2 roads.
Specifically, the city plans to name Do Muoi Street for the section of National Highway 1, from Thu Duc intersection (old station 2 intersection) to An Suong intersection, in Thu Duc City and District 12. The route is more than 21,000m long, with a road width of 120m.
Phan Van Khai street name is expected to be given to National Highway 22, from An Ha bridge to Tay Ninh province border, in Cu Chi district.
The name Le Duc Anh Street is for the section of National Highway 1, from An Suong intersection to An Lac roundabout, in District 12, Hoc Mon District, Binh Tan District. The street is over 14,200m long, with a road width of 120m.
The name Le Kha Phieu Street is expected to be used for the section of National Highway 1, from An Lac roundabout to the border of Long An province, in Binh Tan and Binh Chanh districts. The road is over 9,400m long, with a road width of 120m.
Hoang Cam Street is expected to be named for National Highway 1K, the section from National Highway 1 to the border of Binh Duong province, in Thu Duc City. The route is more than 1,800m long, with a road width of 60m.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City plans to name National Highway 22, from National Highway 1 to An Ha Bridge, in Hoc Mon District, District 12, Le Quang Dao Street. The road is more than 10,000m long, with a road width of 60m.
Phan Van Khai Street is expected to be named for National Highway 22, from An Ha Bridge to the Tay Ninh provincial border, in Cu Chi district. The road is more than 20,000m long, with a road width of 120m.
On Highway 50, Ho Chi Minh City plans to name the street Van Tien Dung for the section from Nhi Thien Duong bridge to the border of Long An province, in District 8 and Binh Chanh district. The route is nearly 11,000m long, with a road width of 40m.
Regarding public works, Ho Chi Minh City plans to name the park in front of the Reunification Hall (Independence Palace) as April 30 Park. This public work has an area of over 3.5 hectares, located in Ben Nghe ward, District 1; bounded by the routes Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Han Thuyen - Cong Truong Cong Xa Paris - Pham Ngoc Thach - Alexandre de Rhodes.
In addition, the bridge currently tentatively named Qua Dao Kim Cuong Bridge located on Tran Quy Kien Street in Thu Duc City is proposed to be named Tran Quy Kien Bridge, more than 291m long and 18m wide.
In an official dispatch requesting opinions from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City proposed the above plan for 11 numbered streets in District 12 and Tan Phu District. The city plans to adjust the route of Dam Than Huy Street and Nguyen Xuan Khoat Street in Tan Phu District.
