On the afternoon of January 23, hundreds of passengers with their belongings went to Hanoi station to board trains to return home for Tet, most of them were freelance workers and university students.

At the boarding gates, railway staff check passengers' boarding passes and identification documents.

Passengers carry a lot of luggage. Suitcases are loaded onto trolleys, railway staff help people get on the train.

Trang Nguyen (from Thanh Hoa) said that in previous years she often took the bus home to celebrate Tet. This year, because she has a cat, she had to change her means of transportation. "The bus is crowded at this time, and I have to leave my pet in the trunk, so I don't feel secure. Since we have an early Tet holiday, I can just leisurely take the train home," she said.

Among Yen Nhi’s luggage on the train was her beloved cat. According to Nhi, she did not need to buy an additional train ticket for the cat, so she comfortably chose a separate room ticket for easy care.

A large bouquet of lilies is a special gift from Mr. Hoang Thang when he went to Nghe An to celebrate Tet with his family: "Of course, flowers are everywhere, but I like the feeling of bringing a little flower from Hanoi back to my hometown as a gift to create the atmosphere."

More than a dozen Dien grapefruits were also heavy Tet gifts held in the hands of a passenger before boarding the train.

Ms. Huyen Trang carried a large bouquet of snow plums, smiling brightly in the afternoon at the train station. "Every year I take the train because I like the old and slow feeling it brings. Every year I bring a small gift, sometimes a bouquet of flowers, a few boxes of dried plums or some fruit home as gifts to create a Tet atmosphere," Ms. Trang shared.

Three large peach trees sent to Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City were also consigned on the year-end train, carefully wrapped by railway staff and transported to the cargo hold.

Near the train departure time, a woman carrying a basket of Tet gifts hurriedly went to the ticket gate.

Inside the train cars, passengers were busy arranging their luggage neatly.

A woman tearfully saw off her loved one at the train station on the afternoon of December 24.

According to statistics from the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, up to now, the total number of train tickets for the Lunar New Year At Ty has been sold more than 300,000 tickets.
