At the time of inspection, the authorities discovered and temporarily seized 8 Chanel branded gold pendants with signs of counterfeiting, worth VND68,333,000. Therefore, Market Management Team No. 4 made a record, completed the dossier, and reported to the Market Management Department for handling according to the provisions of law.
Statistics after 2 months of operation, the Market Management Department of Quang Ninh province inspected and handled 13 gold trading establishments with a total administrative fine of more than 300 million VND.
In Tien Giang province, Market Management Teams No. 1 and 6 of Tien Giang province suddenly inspected 4 enterprises producing and trading gold jewelry in Chau Thanh district, My Tho city, Cai Lay town, and Go Cong town.
Of these, 2 cases were discovered through monitoring, collecting, examining, and verifying information on the e-commerce environment in the form of posting and livestreaming sales via Facebook and TikTok accounts.
At the time of inspection, all 4 establishments were trading in various types of gold jewelry with business registration certificates. Specifically, 2 enterprises produced 30 plain 14K rings (600 purity) and 52 sets of ximen without declaring the applicable standards as prescribed.
The remaining two businesses trading in gold jewelry include 12 dragon head charms with 600 gold content (total weight of 60 taels), 10 necklaces with 980 gold content (total weight of 20 taels) with labels that do not contain all the required information on the product label (no product name), and 12 Pixiu charms with 610 gold content (total weight of 5.2 taels) without product labels.
Based on the listed price, the total value of the confiscated goods was determined to be nearly 1.5 billion VND. The inspection team has established inspection records for the above 4 enterprises to continue examining, verifying, and completing the administrative violation handling records according to regulations.
In Dong Thap , Market Management Team No. 2 and Mobile Market Management Team conducted surprise inspections of 3 businesses trading in gold and fine art jewelry in Cao Lanh city.
Through inspection, the authorities discovered 3 businesses trading in jewelry products including bracelets, bangles, earrings, rings, and pendants, all made of yellow and white metals.
The products all showed signs of counterfeiting the trademark of products with internationally registered trademarks protected in Vietnam by the international registered owner Chanel. The number of exhibits was 11 products with a total value of nearly 85 million VND.
The exhibits are currently being detained. The case is being verified and clarified.
In Hanoi , the Market Management Department (General Department of Market Management) simultaneously conducted surprise inspections at three gold and silver trading locations in Hanoi.
Three gold and silver trading locations include: Phuc Thanh Ha Noi One Member Co., Ltd., No. 276 Ngoc Lam, Long Bien, Hanoi; Bao Tin Lan Vy Gold Co., Ltd., No. 84A Tran Duy Hung, Trung Hoa, Cau Giay, Hanoi; Chien Minh Gold and Silver Co., Ltd., No. 119 Cau Giay, Cau Giay, Hanoi.
At the time of inspection, the stores were open for business as usual. During the initial inspection, the authorities recorded that each store displayed and sold thousands of gold, silver, and stone jewelry products.
Among them, some metal jewelry products are necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings with the names of some famous brands such as: Chanel, Hermes, LV...
Owners of establishments must present documents proving business conditions and invoices for authorities to compare with the goods sold at the store.
The working groups of the Market Management Department are currently continuing to work to prove the legality of the goods sold at the three business establishments. The working groups are expected to last 2-3 days.
