Funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Africa

The entire Vietnamese peacekeeping force at the UNISFA Mission and leaders, commanders and representatives of military units performing peacekeeping duties at the mission attended the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Visiting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Major Navita Kashyap, Civil Affairs Officer, Indian Army, sent her deepest condolences to the entire country of Vietnam, the Vietnam People's Army and millions of Vietnamese people who are mourning the life and career of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

According to Ms. Navita Kashyap, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once said: money is something everyone desires, but honor is the most sacred and noble thing. And he lived with honor until his last moment.

With more than 60 years of dedication to the country, as General Secretary, he led Vietnam to many great achievements. From a young man who joined the Communist Party of Vietnam at the age of 23, he kept his commitment, devoted himself and gave everything until the end of his life.

Leaders, commanders, and representatives of military units performing peacekeeping missions at the mission came to pay their respects and sign the condolence book at the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Africa.

“I know that the General Secretary was like an elder brother to the entire Vietnamese people and everyone is deeply saddened by his passing. But I believe and hope that his legacy will live forever with the Vietnamese people, and that what the General Secretary has done and is doing will continue to be accomplished in the future,” said Ms. Navita Kashyap.

On the same day, Vietnam's Level 2 Field Hospital No. 5, which is on duty in South Sudan (Africa), also held a ceremony to pay tribute to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

From early morning on July 25, units on UN peacekeeping missions lowered flags, set up altars, and prepared for the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Major Nguyen Mau Vu, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Engineering Corps, shared: The life and revolutionary career of the General Secretary is a shining example of bravery, revolutionary enthusiasm, and pure morality, respected not only by compatriots and soldiers across the country but also by many leaders and people around the world.

The officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Engineering Corps deeply mourn the great loss of the Party, the State, the people and the family of the General Secretary. The Vietnam Engineering Corps will uphold its determination, overcome all difficulties, ensure absolute safety, thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the viewpoints and diplomatic policies of the Party and the State; have good relations with international friends; contribute to further embellishing the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, enhancing the image and position of the country and the Vietnamese people in the international arena, worthy of the General Secretary's trust and love for the soldiers "Uncle Ho's soldiers".
