On March 29, Nhat Tan commune (Tien Lu) held a ceremony to receive the certificate of ranking as a provincial historical relic for the Quach family temple and the tomb of Princess Hue Dung.
At the ceremony, delegates and people were briefed on the history of the Quach family temple and the tomb of Princess Hue Dung. According to historical documents, the site is associated with the achievements of the Imperial Doctor Quach Huu Nghiem, the founder of the Quach family in Phuong Tuong village, Nhat Tan commune, and his daughter Quach Xuan Dung (aka Princess Hue Dung). Imperial Doctor Quach Huu Nghiem made many contributions to the Le Dynasty and was appointed Minister of the Ministry of Personnel and Chief Inspector.
According to legend, the Quach family temple was built after Mr. Quach Huu Nghiem passed away (early 16th century). The temple was restored on the old ground, through many renovations and embellishments, the structure has the current architecture.
The Quach family temple currently preserves many valuable artifacts such as: royal decree, throne, memorial tablet, statue of Princess Hue Dung... Every year on September 9 (lunar calendar), the descendants of the Quach family hold a memorial service to commemorate the death anniversary of Mr. Quach Huu Nghiem.
From those historical and cultural values, in Decision No. 569/QD-CTUBND dated March 10, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman, the Quach Family Temple and Princess Hue Dung's tomb were recognized as provincial historical relics. This is not only the honor and pride of the family but also the responsibility of the local government in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
At the ceremony, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the certificate of ranking as a provincial historical relic of the Quach family temple and the tomb of Princess Hue Dung to the People's Committee of Nhat Tan commune and representatives of the Quach family.
