79 years ago, on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, opening a new and extremely brilliant page in the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people. Over the past 79 years, our people, with a passionate patriotism and a desire for peace, have united side by side, not afraid of hardships and sacrifices, steadfastly fighting against foreign invaders, firmly protecting independence, freedom, and socialism.

In those great struggles, millions of outstanding people heroically sacrificed their lives on all battlefields. The Party, government, army and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Lak province will forever remember and be eternally grateful for those great sacrifices.
